Strap on the Giro Women’s Prima Helmet for adjustable melon protection whether you’re carving up the groomers, cutting through the trees, or laying it down in the park. The tough polycarbonate shell and impact-absorbing foam liner give you a high strength-to-weight ratio, and 16 different vents let moisture breathe during high intensity runs. Giro’s Thermostat vent control lets you adjust the vents for temperature regulation, and the included Weatherstrip vent plugs let you seal out snow and air in nasty conditions. An adjustment dial and an internal height adjustment compensate for different head shapes and sizes, while the padded chin strap keeps the Prima in place when you’re cutting through the bumps or dodging through the trees.
Bottom Line: Prima protection for your precious head.
I was a reluctant helmet wearer, but this Prima has changed my mind. The helmet is snuggly soft inside and does not feel awkward or heavy. It is no big deal to have it on to protect the noggin while shredding.
You will not need an XS unless you're 8 years old. The Small has an inform fit system that opens and closes from 52-55.5 cm.Most women are Small or Medium only. Medium fits from 55.5-59cm.
I never wore a helmet because I could not find one that fit and didn't give me a headache...until I tried the Prima. It is very "cushy" inside and the earpads and strap are very soft. The adjustable thing in the back is awesome and gives a "specialized" fit. I tried on alot of different helmets and did alot of research and this is the best fitting helmet.
Yes, this is compatible with Giros Tuneups, 100%.Although the Prima is compatible, the Tuneups "upgrade" to the ear flaps are not as "plush" as your original Prima ear flaps. At least to the extent that I'm aware (perhaps there are other Tuneups models?). My wife had the Tuneups upgrade in her hands and didn't go for it because she has the Black Gems version helmet, which has a decorative design on the ear flaps and plush "fur" lining, and the Tuneups are plain black without plush "fur".
After researching and trying on at least 10 different helmets I just couldn't find one that fit. I saw the Prima in the Black Gems, then I saw the price tag, and almost hesitated trying it on. But, I am glad I did. Do not let the price of this helmet deter you from buying it. I am a novice snowboarding and didn't want to shell out that much cash, but I am glad I did. I can't even tell I am wearing it, it is so light. A small fit my head perfectly. The ear flaps are ultra plush and soft. Plus, these worked perfect with my Anon Majestic goggles, with no gapper gap. I like how you can adjust the back of the neck, and there are adjustable vents as well. This helmet is the shizz.
