Giro 2008 Remedy S Comp Helmet

When you take a face plant into the concrete on a failed rail attempt, you'll be glad you have the full-face protection of the Giro Remedy S Helmet. Trusted by riders like J.P. Auclair and Xavier DeleRue, this helmet delivers enhanced coverage to handle the knarliest lines, rails, and jumps. The Remedy S' EPS foam liner takes the impact of brutal hits. The flow through design sucks air in the front of the helmet and lets it out 14 vents for on-the-fly ventilation. A removable visor offers further protection and keeps the sun out of your eyes while being towed into backcountry kickers.

Bottom Line: The Remedy S Helmet provides serious protection for rails, jumps and lines with serious consequences.

very light and comfortable helmet, fits perfectly with my crowbars. good looks. i have only used this helmet for mountain biking thus far, the ventilation is sufficient at speed in all but the warmest weather so i would assume will be great once winter hits. i bought this helmet as a freeride/big mtn helmet and as an addition to my bad lieutenant, my range of movement is decreased slightly by the chin guard which i think will make switch riding a little trickier though not impossible. that said i definitely would not take this into the park. a steal at this price.

Check the size

By:
September 25, 2008

I just got my helmet in the mail and I found that the sizes run really big. I wear a 7 5/8 hat size and the large was still big on me. Try and get a size down when ordering your helmet.

Look Mean. Ski Fast

By:
August 9, 2009

I picked one of these up on super sale this past winter cause I've always wanted a full face helmet. For my daily duties I wear a Giro Fuse. This helmet is reserved for big lines, big air, and scary speeds through the trees. And it is awesome for all those things. You definitely won't look right skiing timidly in this helmet though, it is big and slightly intimidating even. Aside from it's overall size, it's surprisingly light, and keeps my head pretty cool. The vents are not adjustable at all, so if you aren't hot headed keep a helmet liner with you for cooler days.

My major gripe, which was expected, my Oakley A frames don't really fit in it or work well with it. I picked up a pair of Wisdom's to wear with this helmet.

Ok i see people are buying a size smaller but if anyone has one of these and has a head that is 60cm (23.6in) around and could tell me what size you got that would be awesome

Ok so i bought this, actually the carbon version but with my 60cm head a large fits great. I ended up returning it because the visor on mine was broken. It also didnt fit with my Oakley Wisdom Goggles. My Spys did fit though so i would recommend getting some googles that dont have that pivot joint like the Wisdom's. Also when you are standing still your goggles will fog up because your breath bounces of the guard.

HUGE

By:
April 17, 2008

Bought this for charging bigger lines... and I guess it works for that. Def real comfortable, and gives great protection. The problem is it is absolutely giant. Way too big to ride casuslly, and a pain to carry into the backcountry. Looks more like a moto-cross helmet. This is not what I was hoping for.

Awesome pick

By:
February 18, 2009

Very light, with good fit and by the way very attractive helmet. To avoid the cold wind chill through ventilation try to wear the mask under the helmet. Also when the wind hits towards your face and you ride very fast is better to take visor off. Good selection.

great helmet if it's what you want

By:
February 6, 2008

if you're in the market for a full face helmet, this one's pretty darn good - i have dragon mace & oakley wisdom goggles, and both fit the groove / opening well. one thing to note is if you are split btwn this and the carbon fiber model, i have to say the money would probably be worth it (it's a LOT lighter). i've also taken a couple spills, and the helmet's pretty much bomb-proof.

I need to buy a full face biking helmet, and after a serious

I need to buy a full face biking helmet, and after a serious snowboarding accident last season I'm also considering replacing my regular helmet with a full face type. Can you use the same helmet for both? What are the major differences? I would like to avoid buying two nearly identical helmets. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks,-Slav

There really aren't any major differences other than target market. Both are designed to take big hits at high speed, sometimes in the face. There are plenty of people that use freeride helmets for skiing and vice versa. I'd say find the helmet for whatever sport that you like the best and cross it over to the other.

Sizing issue

By:
March 17, 2008

This helmet rocks! However, the sizing charts are waaay off when you look at the MFR site. If you think you need a large..get a medium...etc. Other than that, it fits awesome.

Giro Remedy S Comp Full Face Helmet

By:
January 9, 2009

We are very pleased with the overall quality and fit of our new helmet (the Giro brand is very well made). The Lg size fits my bigger head size perfectly (think I am about a XL 65 type size normally), and it fits my teenage son a little looser (he's about a 63 medium size (but that gives him room to keep it for many years). The helmet is surprisingly light, and is very goggles compatible. We both highly recommend it. My 16yr old son does think it looks like he has alot of helmet on (with the visor & full face) - jumbo size would descibe it, more like the look of a moto-cross helmet than ski, but I think he is getting use to it. Cheers Brett & Todd
