Giro Fuse Audio Helmet - 2006

The Giro Fuse Audio helmet is a lightweight, high-performance helmet for riders who can't sacrifice peripheral vision, but want to ride to their theme song. A wide-angle cut creates a gapless fit with goggles, and doesn't compromise peripheral vision. That's handy when you're spotting landings, and hauling through the trees. In-mold construction fuses two Hardbody shells to the EPS liner (hence the name) for the ultimate strength-to-weight ratio. This helmet comes complete with Giro's standard TuneUps technology plus LINK technology. LINK allows you to plug in to your music and your cell phone at the same time, so you can stay in touch without fumbling. The built-in microphone lets you speak hands-free, and multiple phone jacks fit most any cell. *Black only. iPod and cell not included.–Vendor

Bottom Line: Keep your head.

Very light, great venting!

By:

The Fuse helmet is very light! Once it's on I forget it's there. The adjustable venting works great. With the vents open I stay very cool and on cold snowy days, keeping the vents closed keeps me warm. The sound is great for this type of setup, as good as using the headphones from an iPod.

The only complaint (and the reason for the 4) is the earpads with the integrated speakers are a little tight. In defense of Giro and Skullcandy I haven't tried adjusting the straps much but the pads and more specifically the speakers inside the earpads put some pressure on my ears. It isn't painful, just a little pressure.

Overall very happy with the Fuse helmet, I would buy this again!!!

Rockin' on the slopes....

Great helmet, great sound! You can hook up your cell phone as well as your ipod, however, if your volume is up too high, you won't hear the phone. To get around this, you just put your phone settings on auto answer after 3 rings and you will be connected to the call automatically.

This helmet was a great investment for protecting my head. I'm a two year rookie boarder, and one thing this helmet help me at is not worry too much when falling and hitting my head. I feel it paid for itself the first time I fell and hit my head, glasses flew off as I slid down the hill about 40 yards, but my jams were still going, and my head felt great. Now I just need a back/butt pad and groin heat rap cloth, and I will be just fine next time cruising down the hill jamming to some techno house, or jazz, or r&b, or what ever.

Great Helmet

By:

I really enjoy this helmet for its comfort and reliability. It fits my head very nicely and the vent adjustment is very easy to do on-the-fly. I have had this helmet for two years now, and have used it in conditions varying from -15 F at Jackson Hole to 50 F at our local "resort" here in Ohio. In both situations I found a comfortable vent setting that worked for me. The only reason that I gave it a 4 is because the wire is pulling out of the box where you adjust the volume and take calls, so I will probably have to take it apart and resolder it later this season. Great product otherwise.

It's all about fit

One of the more comfortable lids I've worn over the years. I'm a long-time helmet user when skiing (8+ years). The audio is great; I can get the volume to where I can comfortably hear it in the tram or on the chair, but once I'm skiing the wind drowns it out and I can hear what's going on around me. I wish they still made helmets with hard ear covers though, these tend to smash my ears and cause some discomfort. Otherwise great helmet.
