G3 Spitfire Ski - 2008

All mountain versatility defines the G3 Spitfire Ski. Its versatile dimensions make it a quiver of one for backcountry skiers often encounter highly variable conditions. G3 built the Spitfire with torsion box construction around a wood core, resulting in a smooth turning, predictable ski with a solid and stable feel. The 89mm waist floats in the pow without sacrificing its carving game in firm or variable conditions. The Spitfire’s lightweight makes it ideal for AT or tele touring.

Bottom Line: When you’re not sure what conditions you’ll find, take the G3 Spitfire Ski.

Ive been off teleskiing for 4 years now, and I sold my old skiis som years ago, wich I regret to this day.Now Im looking at the Spitfire for my all purpose ski, will do a lot of backcountry riding, very little on hardpack. Should also mention that we dont get tons and tons of powder where I live, reason why im not considering the reverend(or similar of other brands).Just wonder if the spitfire will do the trick? And what length should I go for? My height and weight is 183 cm and 88 kg. I prefer short skiis so im considering the 170 cm, just havent decided yet.

This ski should work great for you,and if you go for the shorter ski they will be a fun and quick turning ski!
I have been using my spitfire's for a couple months now and I am loving them!

Good for summer ski mountaineering!

By:
April 16, 2009

I have four days on these skis and I just recently finished the spearhead ski traverse in conditions from crust,to steep chutes!
I found them quick and snappy and light and a perfect compliment for a spring and summer ski mountaineering ski!

I'm looking to get into tele and it was recommended that

I'm looking to get into tele and it was recommended that I try the G3 Spitfire. My alpine ski length is a 170, I', 6'0 and weigh and 200lbs, what length would you recommend for the Spitfire? Would be easier to learn on the 170? Or should I go up to the 177?

Kevin, for your size and weight I would go for the 177. I am 5'9 155 and this is what i ski. I would not go any shorter than that. These are awesome skis you will pleased.

Best Tele-Ski ever

By:
January 4, 2009

I just got back from skiing these puppy's for 7 days. I skied spring conditions, black ice, fresh powder, packed powder, crud, just about anything you can imagine (Sounds like the east coast, right). I've been tele-skiing for over 20 years. These skis do it all. I could ski fast, slow, bumps, deep snow, any conditions and any type of skiing I wanted to do. They performed better than any ski I have ever owned in each category. They are the only skis I have ever owned that do it ALL so well. I'm really impressed! I highly recommend these skis.

Im debating whether to go for these or the rapid transits. These

Im debating whether to go for these or the rapid transits. These look like solid all mountain skis, but how would they do in powder and on icy conditions. I konw the RT's are more for powder, and i would be skiing backcountry and resorts so i don't know which one to get. I am an experienced telemarker, if that helps.

I would (with out question) go with the Rapid Transits. what you need is to ask yourself what you will be doing more of. If you are doing more touring and less lift access then the Spitfire would be the ones for you.however, if you want a ski that you can ski EVERYWHERE then i would go with the RT. they are truly sick sticks.

Have skied these East and West this season

By:
February 20, 2009

I just switched from my K2 SuperStinx to the Spitfire this season. After skiing a week out west at Big White, I found the Spitfire to be a much quieter ride - smooth and steady on the relatively hard packed groomed runs (no fresh to be seen in my week out west)

In Ontario the conditions are mostly very hard packed or ice. The Spitfires have preformed well here too. Not too much chatter on the icy terrain.

My only wonder is if I got one size too long. I have the 184cm and I am 6ft. G3 Says these are the right size but I wonder if the 174's would have been easier to handle??

I love my 2 pair of Barons (one AT and one Tele) but, of course

I love my 2 pair of Barons (one AT and one Tele) but, of course I now want more, more stability at speed with the quickness and that great G3 springboard effect that the Baron has. porposing from one turn to the next. Does the Spitfire have what I want? Which length? My Barons are 184cm. I'm 5' 11" and weigh 180lbs and carry a 25 - 30 lb pack in the backcountry

The spitfire should give you what you want! I would suggest the 184 since you are used to that size ski and your height and weight.
