Garmont Syner-G Telemark Boot - Mens - 2008

The Garmont Syner-G G-Fit Telemark Boot features Triple-G Multi-Injection technology that provides a synergy of skiing performance with touring comfort. The Syner-G's mid-height cuff is high and sturdy enough to handle big skis comfortably in the backcountry. The Syner-G comes with the G-Fit Mid custom thermo-formable liner that has been improved from past years. The lace-up system provides better fit and burlier exterior fabrics give better performance and longer life for those using their liners as slippers in yurts and huts. Resort or backcountry, this boot won't disappoint. NOTE: Be sure to check out our sizing chart for optimal fit.

Bottom Line: Synergizes resort and backcountry design into a tight little telemark package.

Good Boot

By:
November 4, 2008

I have used this boot for two seasons on most snow conditions in and out of the backcountry. These boots have a nice and easy flex, they are stiffer than a two-buckle boot and softer than a four-buckle boot. These boots can push a large ski, but not very well with a stiff binding. They perform well in the backcountry, providing a smooth tour. The only problem I have found is that there is not much material protecting the bellow and I wore a small hole through it. Overall a good boot for in and out of the resort.

Hello,
I was thinking about buying a pair of Syner-Gs. I ski mostly in the backcountry, so low weight is a plus. I am concerned though, for I'll be pairing them with BD Verdicts and 01s. Just wondering if the boot will be underpowered.

Thanks

Depends on the cartridges that you are using in the 01s, and your skiing style...these paired with the mid-stiffs should do fine, and the Verdicts aren't such a huge ski that they require super-stiff boots. However, having tried these, if you're an aggressive free-heeler I'd sacrifice weight for performance and go with the Ener-Gs...

Versatile Mid-stiff Boot

By:
October 22, 2008

The Syner-G is a very versatile boot. It's probably between the T1 and the T2 in terms of stiffness. The boot is light enough and comfortable enough that it is a great choice if you're hiking for turns, but stiff enough that you can really enjoy the ride down. I can push a big ski (G3 Reverends) hard with this boot, but I have to work at it. There are two different forward lean settings (plus a more upright walk setting), so you can take a more or less aggressive stance depending on what you are skiing that day. The boots are very comfortable, and the thermo-moldable liner lets you really customize the fit to your foot. I've been skiing them for two years, and they have held up well. I like the boot a lot. If you're only going to have one pair, this is probably a good all around choice.

How does the Thermo Moldable liner work. Are there any special

How does the Thermo Moldable liner work. Are there any special fitting instructions our set-up required? I currently live in Jpana and most likely would have to do it myself if I order a pair.

Thermo-moldable liners need to be heated up (an oven works). If you are doing it yourself there is a lot of info on it at www.telemarktips.com.

great boot

Syner-G's are an awesome set of boots. Learned the art of tele on them last year and they held up the the beating I took and gaveout. Hiked 5 miles to tuckerman ravine in them, and no there was no snow on the trail. This is a great boot to drop a knee at the local ski hill, skin up to make some turns off-piste or just sit back and have a few apres at the water hole.
