G3 Targa T9 Telemark Binding - All Mountain - 2006

The G3 Targa T/9 Telemark All Mountain binding built to stand up to skilled, powerful skiers. Less stiff than the Race, the All Mountain is great for skiers who rip the backcountry as well as the inbounds groomers. Lightweight and reliable, the T/9 All Mountain features G3's new patent-pending TourThrow heel lever. It increases both downhill performance and touring efficiency. Flip up the lever for the active downhill position; flip down the lever for low-resistance touring. It'll save you energy and save your legs so you can increase your vert. The binding comes with a secret stash of spare parts for emergency use. (Fits US men's sizes 4.5-14.0) –Vendor

Bottom Line: The more vert, the better.

Nice Neutral feel

By:

I first learned to ski on Rottafellas and K2 Super Stinx, and bought these G3 bindings to put on the K2 Piste Pipes. At first the G3 binding felt sloppy, but after time, I realized that I was sloppy. As I've gained experience, I've realized there is a lot of feel and touch in this binding, you can micro-adjust your stance and immediately feel the difference. My Rottafellas don't have that same feel. I think the G3 is a great binding for anyone who wants to experiment with their stance and improve. I ski it hard on the ice, bumps and in powder and it does everything I ask of it. I have snapped a cable at the hinge in the toe piece, due to the metal hoop getting banged and becoming sharp. The replacement cable is about $15.

Great Touring Binding

By:
March 21, 2005

The Targa T9 is a fantastic binding for Touring. The light weight and 'tour' mode of the heel through makes for easy touring up and a quick transition at the top. This binding is not as active as other bindings which can be felt at the resorts.

G3's are good...

By:
March 25, 2004

This is an excellent binding...If you are a quasi aggressive skier that doesn't weigh that much and has a super light boot.I am neither of these... I have broken countless toe plates. I've talked with G3 with hope that they will beef up the toe plates. This binding still is the best in the biz though.

rookie review

By:

I have just switched over to telemarking, so my view is from a beginner’s standpoint. Thus far, it's incredible. This binding is super easy to mount, I have it adapted to a Voile release kit using the G3 adapter plate. Also, very easy to get into. I feel as if I can make a parallel turn with just as much strength and control as I can in a normal downhill set up, which is nice when you need to bail out occasionally when you're at my low level of skill. Never do I ever feel detached from the ski or feel as if I'm wobbling.

G3's are solid

Second pair of G3s. These binding are solid without any problems. Wouldn't take anything else into the backcountry.

Targa T9 tele binding

By:
March 20, 2006

Good choice for me. I mounted them on a pair of Karhu Jak skis, 172 cm. I had skied a series of 4 and 5 Riva bindings, and the Targa is a lot more supportive and stable. I have ten days in, and not a single spontaneous release in crud and deep powder. Lots of lateral support for alpine turns.
