When you hear the name Steele Spence, you envision super-long kinked rails and epic jibbing sessions. Over the past few years, Steele has helped take urban rail-sliding to new heights and racked up some impressive competitive results at the same time. The 4FRNT STL enables Steele to continuously crush his own high marks, thanks to its nearly non-existent swing weight and a ride that's as smooth going forward as it is skiing switch. The maple-and-aspen core provides the freestyle-tuned flex and solid feel underfoot that are crucial for sticking rails and stomping spin moves. Steele designs his own graphics for the STL, so there's a little bit of Mr. Spence in every pair.
Bottom Line: The 4FRNT STL lets you stomp and spin with the Man of Steele.
i love this ski for ripping groomers. yeah, not the intended use of a super durable park/jib ski, but it actually slays it all over the mountain. the core on this ski is so bomber that i have no problem ripping long turns regular and switch day in and day out. have mine mounted 1cm back from center, and have skied them 40 days this year. dabble in the park? why not!
only reason this ski will never get a 5 from me is the top sheet chips a lot on my pair of 183s, but nothing a well-placed sticker won't fix.
What's up? You're looking at the 07/08 model. The shape and core are unchanged for 08/09, making this a smokin deal. Hope this helps and have fun this winter!
This is truly a great ski. I ride east coast with the occasional trip out west. every thing preformed above my expectations. they dominate in the park with virtually no swing weight and i hit rails 24/7 and have had no edge breaks or anything. Have them mounted at factory recommended position and preform great, wouldnt mind have true center tho.
These were my first ever 4frnt's and won't be the last. I've had the 06/07s for the last couple years and they've held up amazingly. Standout characteristics are the skis lightness, non-existent swing weight and responsiveness. Super fun on groomers and bumps as well. Great all-around ski for someone who doesn't get a ton of pow days a season.
I've had this ski for the entire 07-08 season so far as of the end of February they are great, super fun ski, light and kills just about everywhere. However it makes me so mad that when i pay for a quality product i get top sheet chipping, edge cracks and core shots and deep scratches. This has all happened with my 06-07 4frnt stl's I mean I really wish the ski was more durable as it is such a fun, nice ski to have. Bottom line durability lacks but the ski kills everywhere especially the park. I Really wish I could give this ski more than 3 starts for due to it's performance, but the durability issues have to be worked out first.
