Fischer Prohete 106 Alpine Ski - 2005

Powered by a bombproof wood core that's surprisingly lightweight and nimble, the 106mm-waisted Fischer Prophete Alpine Ski is built to do one thing, and do it well: float pow at ridiculous speeds. The Prophete Ski is last year's Fischer 10.6, which received accolades from Powder and Skiing Magazine during the 04/05 season. From stomping huge cliff hucks to catching the rope drop on a powder day and leaving the crowd behind in two turns, these skis are the ultimate big mountain choice. Great all-around fatty

A great all around powder or touring ski if you are looking for something big. I have toured for years on the predecessor, the big Stix 106. This ski is fairly soft, has a generous side cut, and is very light for its overall girth.

forget about the fat...

I ripped these for a week in Utah - nine day old re-crystallized powder in the wolverine chutes. These blasted through everything.

I also skied the Dynastar Legend Pro's, and the Big Stix are so much quicker in all conditions. They also feel light under foot. You will forget they are fat!

The groomers are the only place you'll realize you are on a fat ski - but you shouldn't be on groomers anyhow.

The Fischer Big Stix 10.6 do everything well, especially powder. I am very pleased because they make me feel like I'm floating down the powder.

Surprisingly Versatile

I bought this ski with the intention that I would only break it out on the deepest Utah powder days but to my surprise I use the ski all the time. It is a great backcountry ski that is very easy to turn. I also like how fast you can go on this ski it does not appear to have a speed limit.
