The Ex Officio Men's Give-N-Go Boxer Brief is the one pair you'll pack every time. These breathable boxers air dry in a few hours so you can wash as you go and carry fewer pairs. Made from Give-N-Go Stretch, these three inch inseam briefs move with you and wick perspiration, which makes them as ideal for traveling or backpacking. Ex Officio treated these boxer briefs with an anti-microbial finish, so if you can't do laundry for a day or three, your boxers won't offend.
Bottom Line: Wear the quick-drying, comfortable Ex Officio Give-N-Go Boxers when you hike, backpack, or travel.
I really enjoy wearing these boxers. They keep the boys in place while also wicking away moisture extremely well. Ive worn them on a couple of hikes and they seem to do a great job. I also wear them under my board shorts and they dry pretty fast. Much faster than anything cotton of course. Id suggest them to anybody. They also work alright under jeans or pants. Get em!
I'm 6'2" skinny as hell = about 145-150lbs and the size I should get is medium according to their chart. Several people mentioned to size down. Advice?
I'm slightly less lanky (6', 155 lbs, 31-32" waist) and got the small, which I've been happy with. They fit snugly, which I prefer, but not at all uncomfortably. They are actually tightest around my thighs; there is plenty of stretch left in the waist.
I own 5 different brands of synthetic boxer briefs, some are much cheaper but none match the comfort ore breathability of these. They are stupid expensive, but I think they will last a long time. If you are at all on the fence about them I suggest you get them.
Other brands (with rating compared to these ) C9 by champion mesh from target (3/5)(no longer made) C9 by champion polyester from target (2/5) (current synthetics at target) Patagonia lightweight (3/5) (they have a seam that goes up the butt crack) Sanoma from Kohls (2/5) (the hem around the thigh is TIGHT) Jockey polyester from department store (1/5) (no support, too stretchy) Merona from target (1/5) (almost identical to the jockeys).
Too long I punished my nether regions with cotton underwear, TOO LONG. Go hiking and it got toasty down there. Go running and you were in for some serious punishment! Synthetic boxerbriefs both protect my legs from chaffing each other (and other things) AND are highly breathable and moister wicking. As other reviewers have said, if I had the $$$ these would be the only underwear I would own. But as it is at least buy 1 or 2 pairs for your camping/running/biking/anytime-you're-moving activities and you will not regret it in the slightest!
Super comfortable. They don't ride up, cost less and dry faster than the Patagonia boxer, though it is a close second. If you haven't indulged to keep the stank off your hanglow, you're living in a fool's paradise my friend.
These are my new go to boxers. Great fit. I bought these, patagonia boxerbriefs and mountain hardwear boxer briefs just to test out a few brands. They can make it through the day without constant adjusting. While backpacking other boxers tend to fight with my hiking shorts, they want to give me a wedgie and my shorts want to sag. These keep right in place. Best of all, they don't smell like dead things after one use (like my old go to's, Under Armour). Highly recommended, I'm going to buy a few more pairs.
I purchased a pair of boxer briefs in black and they look great! The fit around the legs are good, but I will say that there is a lot of fabric around the pouch area. I am generally a size medium, but I would seriously consider purchasing one size smaller, to reduce the amount of excess fabric in the pouch area. As well, the height of the boxer briefs is a bit too high, which is another reason why I would consider purchasing one size smaller.
I compared these to the Mountain Hardwear equivalent. The fit and support is better with these but the material is not as comfortable as Mountain Hardwear's. Also the waistband is a bit uncomfortable.
I agree with the crowd. I have been wearing (and wearing, and wearing...) Ex Officio briefs for years. They flat out work. I wanted to give these a shot for both work and running. They do both well. I like the extra leg coverage for running, as they seem to be more wedgie-proof. As with the briefs, the material breathes and dries well. The mediums fit my 34 inch waist, 150 pound, 5'8' frame.
I have been traveling and hiking for a few months and these have been a lifesaver. Whether you are wet or dry or just sweaty they keep you comfortable and free of friction ;) I will definitely buy more of those.
Bought these, and several other types to use on cross country trip that did not include hotels or motels. Very comfortable for several days of use, that was the point!
I bought these because of chaffing during hikes. They work wonders. Imusually wear boxers and was afraid of how I would like these briefs, but I love them. They dont ride up, arent real restricting and keep me from chaffing!
These would be the only type of underwear I would ware if they weren't so expensive, still they are worth buying a few pairs for hiking/backpacking. They resist odors super well and wick sweet very will. I sized down for these, normally a size medium (32 waist) so i went with a small.
Best pair of underwear I've ever owned. I bought three pairs for x-mas (ex-officio, underarmour, and columbia. This is by far the best. Best fit, best feel...I want more pairs.
I spent $25 on a single pair of underwear, but these are worth the money. These feel great. What a fit. Amazing how comfortable these are, all day and all night comfort. I pray these will last and good long time. Suppose I should purchase another pair.
great for running and hiking. keep your junk in place. not too tight, feel true to size. dry fast but doesn't really matter 'cuz you can wear them wet and they'll feel pretty dry (the body heat will dry them off just as fast as a dryer anyways). bottom line: worth the money!
I finally decided to try something else besides cotton and can't believe what a difference they make - whether it's hiking or working out. Took them to Florida's humidity last year and they did a great job wicking and maintaining comfort. I prefer the more supportive boxer brief over the regular boxer during activities. The only drawers I wear anymore. Definitely recommend them.
Took four pair with me to Europe on a backpacking trip. They worked great and dried quickly after a wash in the sink. Just watch the sizing. I normally wear a medium and dropped down to a small.
I found it difficult to justify buying $25 underwear at first but these are definitely worth it and I couldn't be more content. They are extremely comfortable, they stay put, and they stay dry. If there is a perfect set of drawls out there, these are it.
i never thought i would spend this much money on a pair of underwear. having worn them now on several hiking trips, i feel very confident with the purchase. the underwear is uber comfy and drastically helps with moisture control. well worth the price.
Pretty comfortable and relatively inexpensive. Although I haven't used them too vigorously they seem to breathe well and dry quick. Most reviewers say to size down, however I'm 5' 10" 155lbs 31/32jeans and the medium fits comfortably. These do stretch well so the small could fit too, but I don't like things being too tight down there.
That's it. They are better than anything else I have tried. They are great for Hiking and kayaking, go for a swim and they are dry in no time. I threw everything else out......
I am 165 lbs, 6ft tall and I have bought both the small and medium for running & biking. These are hands down the most comfortable underwear I've owned. The small fits me better than the medium, however with the medium I just flip the waist band down and they are good to go. Perfect for running. 4 stars due to the smell factor.
These boxer briefs exceeded my expectations when it came to keeping me dry-- two days of walking and absolutely no swamp arse. I could not believe how well they worked.
But, they definitely didn't dry in 2-3 hours after washing-- even overnight I'd find them damp, and this was after towel drying them and stomping on them (as the package suggests).
Also, both pairs of boxer briefs got weird snags on them and I have no idea how. The snags didn't ruin them at all, but it makes me wonder how durable they will be in the long run.
These are very good underwear. I'm not about to throw out all the other underwear in my drawer, but right out of the box, these are some of the best I've ever had (and I've tried types from Fruit of the Loom and Hanes to Calvin Klein and 2xist). The sizing comment that has been made before is true. They have a good amount of stretch (although they won't seem too loose) but if you're torn between large and medium, definitely go medium. And you won't feel like your boys are squished, either. Ultimately, if you want comfort, and are willing to spend the $25 on good underwear, I can say you won't regret it.
I thought the two pair I purchased was a little expensive but not until I wore them that I realized that they where worth every penny I spent. They wore great, no chafing, looks great and my wife said they look sexy. I bought two more pair!!
So I read the reviews for these boxers at a bunch of different places and they were all great, every single one! Plus I was tired of my junk being all mashed around in regular cotton boxer-briefs, therefore I picked up a pair of these bad boys! I wish I could afford to replace all my underwear with these, so comfy, so light, and wow it totally put an end to that horrible amazon humidity thing going on while hiking! I definitely recommend these to everyone, BE NICE TO YOUR SACK AND BUY THESE!
These boxers are unbelievable. It is so nice to have breathable clothing from head to toe. Much better than cotton boxers, more comfortable and obviously dry way quicker
Lightweight, dry super-fast (comparatively), supportive, best underwear I have ever had for backpacking, skiing, running; any activity were you break a sweat. You will not be disappointed.
After 30miles in the damp Smokey Mountains I surprised to find that my taint area was far less chapped than it should have been for the weather we had. In short, pricey underwear, but totally worth it
Had my first pair for about 3 weeks now, and they're all I wear. The material is almost silky. The pouch does have a little extra room, but it hasn't bothered me. Also, the stitching pattern is kinda strange and bugged me at first, but it's fine now broken in. Sizing seems normal to me. They're even more comfy than my Patagonia's!
Very comfortable, quick to dry, stay fresh for a long time. I have bigger legs, which is usually the problem with boxer/briefs, but these fit fabulously!
Bought two pair for fishing the tropics. Got tired of mesh bun huggers that didn't fit well. Great feel and very comfy. Plan on buying several more pair. Dry super quick and have no discomfort when wet. For the warm muggy places I fish, they work great!
i agree with everyone else as to the comfort, wearability, and shear awesomeness of these boxer briefs. they keep you dry and don't ride up like the patagonia ones (which i still like, just not as much). looking to buy more soon. i'm not sure about the recommendations to size down...i typically wear a large, bought a large, and they fit great. with backcountry.com's return service, you can gamble on the size if you want.
...hasn't already been said. Best underpants on the planet. I've officially (hiyo!) gone full Ex Officio 7 days a week.Never again will cotton touch my nether regions.
I bought a couple of pairs of the boxers for a trip to South America and they certainly live up to the claim that they are the most comfotable undies around, but ... and it's a big but ... I found that I sweated under the exposed elastic waistband. If the elastic was covered with cloth they would be perfect.
these are incredibly comfy dont ride up dont need adjusting they breath like god breathed life into adam i wore mine for two weeks straight no washing and they really dont smell too terrible they dry pretty freakin fast too.
Loved them!! Spend a lot of time over seas in the heat and cold, up and down rugged terrain and these are the best underwear i've ever worn. No more cotton for me! I still don't know about those other reviews about wearing them for days and days...I mean wash them now and again....Please!
very comfortable and light. took 2 pair with me to hawaii and washed one each day by hand in the sink. note: do not hang dry draped over a lamp... they will melt. my mistake!
These were comfortable but the moisture management isn't as great as they claim...I like the North Face equivalents a lot better. I expected shrinkage after washing but they became slightly more uncomfortable than I expected.
I have trashed (oh, recycled) all my old cotton briefs. These are wonderful. Great for daily use, and out of this world if you are on a two week trip and only want to pack two or three pair of underwear!
Austin, Texas, 97 degrees, 97 percent humidity, my daughter's outdoor wedding in a tuxedo...a recipe for discomfort if ever there was one. I must say, as emotionally overwrought as I was, I was cool and dry "downstairs" thanks to these underwear. These are absolutely the finest underpants I have ever worn in 51 years. Period. My daughter and the wedding were beautiful, too.
At first I was super skeptical that ANY boxer brief could be worth paying over $20/pair. But after reading a few reviews of the Ex Officio Give-N-Go Boxer Brief I began to lose some of that skepticism. Ex Officio is known for durability and loyal customers, and you usually get what you pay for, so I decoded to give these bad boys a shot. I honestly never knew boxer briefs could be so damn comfortable! They just feel so light and soft and they breathe so well that they drastically reduce any sweating down there. I've since bought a few more pairs and now I won't go hiking or climbing without them. I strongly recommend picking up a pair of Ex Officio Give-N-Go Boxer Briefs.
I normally wear cotton boxers. I purchased one the boxers, boxer-briefs, and sport briefs to give them all try to see which ones work best with work/travel/hiking/concerts...I found the boxer briefs to work the best, they did not bunch up at all and keep me dry and cool. Just purchased 3 more pairs. If you are questioning the price, then don't buy them, they do not perform miracles so if the price bothers you look elsewhere.
Never thought I would pay this much for a boxer, but now I own more than one pair. These are awesome, better than Patagonia and REI brand label. So comfortable you forget your wearing them and don't pickup funky smell like UnderArmour boxers after long day of use. These don't fit tight to your leg or have to worry about them sliding down as you wear them out and about. Best boxer I own (tried 5 different brands that are same type and material).
these are great. I have a few par of the boxers and love them. I just got one pair to compare. they are comfy. plenty of room, but not baggy. I'm a 30 waist and the small is perfect.
your stuff deserves the best underwear, and Ex Officio delivers. There is no other boxerbrief out there with this level of comfort, breathability, and mobility. Worth every penny.

Rarely do you find such a comfortable home for your "boys", but wow. They don't squeeze but hold nicely. They also are great in humid climate or during sweaty uses. Couldn't be happier.
Can't go wrong traveling with these. Although they advertise that you can go anywhere for a long time and just wear one pair, I would recommend getting two so you can wash one and wear one. Great for backpacking too, wash em in the stream and then lash onto your pack to dry. Love them and would definitely buy again, well worth the money when you consider how many pairs two of these would replace.
Even though is a bit pricey for a pair of underroos, this is the best investment i have made.Amazing comfort and quick drying. Even after getting wet or a day of play in the sun or snow, these shorts don't get all funky.
These underwear do everything they say they will. Bring two pairs, wear one while the other dries. Bring one and wash them in the shower. They dry in a half hour with the help of your body heat. They wick like crazy, and they don't get funky even after a day of hiking with a 40 pound pack.
These guys are super light, breathable and soft, making them more comfortable than I thought possible. I questioned the price of this pair of boxer briefs, but now I know why people are willing to spend the money. Well worth the cost indeed. Can't imagine anything more comfortable.
