Elan Magfire 82 XTI Ski w/ ELX12WB - 2008

The advanced all-mountain skier with a penchant for high speeds and sharp turns will have a field day on the Elan Magfire 82 XTI Ski. This all-mountain plank comes with Elan’s ELX12WB integrated binding, which Elan fixed to the ski with two free-gliding plates that allow better energy transmission during turns. The Magfire also features Elan’s WaveFlex technology, which gives the ski a stiff torsional flex with a softer longitudinal flex. This means you get the perfect combination of soft turning flex with the ability to control the ski on its edge. The Magfire 82’s vertical sidewalls give you direct power transmission for turning at high speeds, and the combination of hard and soft wood in the core gives the ski power and stability while maintaining a light weight. Two layers of titanium above the wood core provide quick response and progressive flex when you’re screaming down the groomers.

Fun on groomers

Great ski to play around on if you're sticking to the groomers. Holds a solid edge, turns on a dime, and speed is not a question. If you're not ripping hard on the corduroy, I wouldn't recommend it.

I have had the Elan Magfire 14's for the past 2 seasons and love them. These skis are great almost everywhere on the mountain. Except tight trees and moguls due to their weight and stiff flex. As far as their handling goes they love to do GS turns and do not have a speed limit.

DO IT ALL

This is a true all mountain ski that can handle powder, crud, and hard pack. While you need to really need to sit on your edges to ski icy conditions, these skis will handle that too. I bought these skis after a demo in Idaho; they continue to deliver in all conditions.
