Elan 1010 ALU Alpine Ski

Elan pro slayers and seasoned designers stripped the versatile 999, gave it size 110 pants and hammered in a beat-the-mountain-down flex to give you the 1010 Alpine Ski. This quiver-of-one all-mountain monster stabilizes dominating turns with dual titanium layers above and below a lively laminated wood core. An obese tip and fat footprint freely plow your reckless abandon through sun baked goat paths to secret neck deep pillow lines. Hammer quick turns down constricted chutes thanks to the lightweight aluminum topsheet. Just before you hit the lift, channel pent up angst into the race-bred vertical sidewalls and use the deep sidecut to trench groomers past jean jacket gapers.

Bottom Line: Play king of the hill with Elan’s newest freeride planks.

It is misleading to simply say this ski has no rocker. While it does have camper underfoot, the tips do splay apart approximately 6 inches from the point where the base turns upwards. So, they do have tip rocker. They're also an awesome ski.

The brakes on the STH 16 aren't wide enough. They're only 100mm (this ski is 110mm at the waist). 10mm is a little much to be trying to pry the brakes to fit. If you could find some wider brakes to swap on the STH, then you'd be in business.
