It has a very small back.....like maybe 1/2 inch tall. It's just enough to keep your heel from sliding out.

Got the right color and size 2day!!! These shoes are awesome!! They run small...so...order a size larger than you usually wear. These are my third pair of El Naturalista's. These are the best (most comfortable)yet!
