Eagle Creek ORV Super Trunk 36 - 8200 cu in

The Eagle Creek ORV Super Trunk 36 is a monster. It's one of the largest-volume duffels on the market. But—it's easy to manage. Eagle Creek added compression straps to control the bulk of your baggage. This wheeled luggage provides plenty of exterior and interior pockets, an interior cargo net, and a separate seam-sealed compartment for your dirty laundry or muddy shoes. You can also integrate it with Eagle Creek's Pack-It Gear System (Mud, Gear, and Drop Boxes). An oversized front panel opening and gear tailgate facilitate loading and unloading. Reinforced stress points make this bag bombproof, and the telescoping handle and durable wheels facilitate airport transport.

Bottom Line: Big plans? Really big plans? The durable, user-friendly, Eagle Creek Super Trunk ORV 36 lets you bring everything you need.

I am traveling to India. We will be there for 1 month and traveling every 2 to 3 days. Will this bag meet the airline requirements?

As long as your load is under the airlines weight limit and you use TSA locks, then you'll be fine. I recently spent 6 weeks in India and found a rolling piece of luggage rather cumbersome. If I were in your shoes I would be looking at packing lighter and going for a backpack.

No- this is certainly not carry on size. Eagle Creek makes this bag in a 22" version which can be carried. They are in stock on this site

hi - i purchased this for the family and it appears that it does not meet the airlines requirements of 62 cubic inches. Does anyone know? I haven't yet tried to bring it along in fear that it will cost be oversized baggage fees.

Great soft-sided "foot locker" equivalent. This Super Trunk is truly well made. The wheels roll smoothly on any pavement and can take the punishment of a long flight of stairs even when fully loaded. The zippers can deal with an overstuffed packing job without bursting. And the pulling handle has two settings which are just right for either a small or large person. I've been on trips where a cheap duffel has failed me and was forced to carry it like a heavy suitcase for the remainder of the journey. It's worth it to spend the extra money and get a duffel that won't let you down. One feature I was not able to take advantage of was the built-in "boot bag" sewn inside the duffel. The bag is really not large enough for a man's hiking boots but would work fine for a wet pair of sneakers or damp clothing. One of the other reviewers mentioned that this duffel will stand on end when fully packed. It will. And I found, to my pleasure, that it made it much easier to navigate through a throng in an airport and inch down a long line when your duffel will stand upright on its own. I would recommend this bag to anyone who has to carry large bulky stuff.

The current limit is 62" (linear inches) length+width+depth - this one comes in at 68" - so they may (it is beyond the allowable size) - will they?? depends on the gate agent - some folks here report no problems on multiple trips - as a frequent international traveler, I would say you could at some point expect a problem and a fee - which can be $50.00 to over $100.00 (each way). If you are not up for that - get the 30" size - it is within the size limits.

I have had this Super Trunk for several years now and have checked it on airline flights at least 1/2 dozen times. No agent has ever asked me about its dimensions. I always make sure that its weight is under the limit, as the bag is always placed on a scale at the airport. As far as the dimensions go, it has never been an issue for me. I plan to travel with it again next month and don't expect to have any trouble. It is an all around great bag. Very sturdy and quite mobile with its wheels and handle.
