Not too bad

By:

The color wasn't quite was I was expecting. From the pictures they look a little lighter in color than what they really are. But other than that they are overall a pretty good shoe. They're light and comfortable, but don't take them for anything over a 4 or 5 mile run. Not sturdy enough and lack support after that point. Would recommend for use though. Im pleased with them.

Works for me.

Cool shoe for the 38 bucks I paid. Very light. Feels a bit high, and not very much support, but I dont really do hardcore trail running. I just run in my backyard (which is mountainous terrain) for about 3 -5miles at a time. Nothing extreme, so it works for me.

Fits true to size too. Might want to try some fancy lacing to get a bit more support.

They fit true to size for me.I have seen these and they do seem a little narrower than salomons, which i normally wear. Have not tried them outside the store yet, but soon.

Stumptown 8.5 vs 10oz

By:
June 17, 2009

I actually bought both the 8.5 and 10 oz END Stumptown trailrunning shoes to try, and am putting this review under each shoe. They are cut VERY differently. The 10oz is MUCH wider across the forefoot than the 8.5 oz. It feels better constructed than the lighter shoe. It has a removeable footbed, vs a glued in footbed on the 8.5oz shoe. Both are quite comfortable. The lighter shoe is not really supportive enough to be a trail running shoe, IMO, but if fine as a lightweight casual shoe. The 10oz is definitely the better shoe as an actual running shoe.

Great Company, not so trail savey

By:
July 22, 2009

Bought these after reading up on the Company; great philosphy, more should follow suite. Have worn these just knocking around town, but had not taken them on a trail run. Put them on the trail finally and, hate to admit, fairly inadequate. Not enough suport and little protection for anything remotly technical. Upper material is HOT, not much breathing going on. I have not tried the heavier version so the jury is still out. These Stumptown 8.5's are better suited to the perils of grocery store traffic.

Totally inadequate

By:

Worst shoe I have ever owned. Started to fall apart after two days of semi-rugged use (trail walking, some rock scrambling). The soles are delaminating, several of the loops that hold the laces broke, and they offer almost no support at all. Serious waste of $65.
