Eagle Creek Switchback Max 25 Convertible Pack - 2008
The Eagle Creek Switchback Max 25 Luggage travels easily through airports and train stations with its ORV wheels and Touch Point Radius handle. The hideaway backpack straps, sternum strap, and waist-belt distribute weight evenly when you carry the pack over obstacle-ridden terrain. For those four-hour side trips, the front portion of the Switchback Max zips off and becomes a daypack with organizer pockets. Although this 25-inch luggage is too big for carry-on, you can check the wheeled portion and bring the daypack onboard. The Switchback Max 25 Pack integrates with Eagle Creek's Pack-It System for efficient, organized packing and item retrieval.
Bottom Line: The Eagle Creek Switchback Max ES 25 Pack—a wheeled gear bag, large travel backpack, and carry-on daypack for active travelers.
Is this 'Eagle Creek Switchback Max 25 Convertible Pack' you are selling here for $129 the 2009 version; you list the volume as 4700cu in., while the Eagle Creek website shows the 2009 Switchback at 5064 cu. in., and almost 2lbs lighter than the previous version ?
This is a very neat bag with lots of bells and whistles. It will certainly hold up well on a big trip. But, it seemed like the wheels and pack consumed a lot of space. It also made it pretty heavy. For travel to Europe and places with lots of paved surfaces, it would work well. But for travel to more remote places, I do not think it would be practical.
I'm not sure about the volume description, are the 4700cu in the total volume of the pack, including the daypack, or is this just the volume of the main pack?
