Eagle Creek Dual Wattage International Converter Set - 2006

The Dual Wattage International Converter from Eagle Creek allows you to use North American appliances internationally. It has a dual circuit unit that operates as a 0-25 watt transformer in the low setting and a 26-1875 watt converter in the high setting. Don't worry, we have no idea what that means either. Basically, you use the low setting with: battery chargers, curling irons, shavers, tooth brushes, and other electronic or electric appliances between 0-25 watts. Use in the high setting with: hair dryers, clothes steamers, irons, heating pads, coffee makers, beverage heaters, and other electric appliances between 26-1875 watts. You'll manually have to change the wattage depending on what you're using and the converter does not include ungrounded adaptor plugs. Do not use your computer with any Eagle Creek transformer or converter.

Bottom Line: Don't get stuck without your razor abroad. Plan ahead and you won't have to buy new stuff that'll be useless when you get home.

Hasn't let me down

I've had my Eagle Creek converter kit for 3+ years, and we have hit six continents so far. My motive for purchasing this kit was for a RTW trip. It worked beautifully in all countries I visited; even East Africa, Cambodia, and rural VietNam. No blow outs or surges for any of my equipment. The continental plugs work well, too. The South American adapter worked consistently in Bolivia, Peru, and Chile. My lone complaint: the main unit is heavy and tends to slide out of high and perpendicular outlets. In this case, you will need to hold it in, or wedge it with something larger to keep it in place. Still, this is a must-have for the big time traveler.
