Darn Tough Merino Wool Over The Calf Cushion Ski Sock
Pull on the Darn Tough On-Mountain Merino Wool Cushion Ski Socks when you head for the slopes. Darn Tough tested these burly but soft wool socks at Vermont ski areas and deemed them worthy to warm and pad your feet. High-density cushioning on the foot bottom and around the shin adds warmth and eliminates pressure from forward lean and from buckles and straps. Elastic support around the arch and ribbing above the ankle ensure a snug, blister-free fit. These socks wick sweat, so your feet won't get cold and clammy while you ride the chairlift.
Bottom Line: Head for the lodge when your feet get cold in regular socks. Or shred all day in your Darn Tough Merino Wool Cushion Ski Socks.
Every one who reviewed these socks gave them a 5 star rating. That says something. High quality. Good elastic cuff, won't slide down. Great moisture transport. Just the right amount of padding. Must wear them multiple days to get them to smell. Darn tough is right, they will last for years and won't be all stretched out, pilled and played like the others.
I used to be all about Smartwool socks, but after trying Darn Tough, I'm now a convert. These socks actually stay up on my leg and are incredibly warm. Definitely higher quality than Smartwool. Awesome Socks.
I used to think socks were just socks until I tried these on. Merino wool is the best hands down! These socks make my other ones feel like sandpaper(Ok, maybe that's a bit much, but you get the idea). These are by far my favorite socks to date. So good, that I immediately went back and bought another pair. Not to mention these come with a lifetime warranty, which is a plus.
I bought a pair of the their running socks in Aspen last year and have been hooked ever since. I tried the ski socks last winter and they held up like the running socks and fit great with my T1s.I was psyched to see this site carrying these guys, these socks rock!
I love these socks!! They're my new obsession for outdoor gear. I actually wear these snowshoeing. They keep my feet warm even in those single digit temp. days. Great colors too. It's nice as a woman to get to choose from more feminine colors. They've been washed so much, but they never get scratchy. Cozy every time. I guess they guarantee them for life because they can; they never wear out! These are soooooooooo worth the purchase!
My family wouldn't give me Smartwool or other socks because I would just keep on destroying them. (Record time = 1 hour) It got to the point where I now wear sandals all the time so socks aren't a problem. My grandparents got me a pair of Darn Tough ski socks a couple of years ago, and they have still yet to show any wear. That's 40+ days of ski patrolling each year in them. I'm getting myself another pair because my other problem is loosing socks....
These gloves kept my feet warm and dry on cold days skiing. Their cushioning is great - usually my shins hurt after cinching down my boots, but the padding on these means I don't have to loosen my boots between runs!
These socks are super warm! They're cute colors and very cushy and comfy. I wear them snowboarding, hiking in the winter and around the house to keep warm!
These socks rock. They were comfortable in my ski boots and in my hiking boots. They seemed to get a little smaller after I washed them (I didn't put them in the dryer) but it could just be my imagination. I wore them for heavy activity for about 8 hours and they never slid down or became uncomfortable.
More great socks from Darn Tough. They work great for tele skiing and are just the right thickness. A bit tighter in all the right places. I should probably just start changing over to all Darn Tough socks. Fun colors too!
Great, super cushy, love the merino wool. Keeps my feet so warm and comfortable. Definatley a must have sock! I wear them more than just on the slopes. My feet are always cold, but not in these socks. My toes are happy in these!
These are impressive socks. The cushion version gives just enough padding to give that extra cush feel without sacrificing performance. Merino wool has a broader comfort range, so you don't overheat in moderate temps. Elastic in the right places keep your socks in place so there is no bunching up all day through. 5 stars.
