Lange Banshee Pro Ski Boot - Men's

Crushing race courses and grabbing medals are what Lange is all about. The Banshee Pro is Lange’s aggressive freeride boot, built for expert and professional freeskiers who crush it out of bounds. Starting with the 135 flex-index World Cup R 11 chassis as a foundation, Lange added freeride-specific modifications like a shock-absorbing footbed and toebox, wide elastic powerband, Recco reflector, and an ISO-DIN-compatible, replaceable Vibram sole. These features, combined with Lange’s renowned progressive forward flex and lateral stiffness, give you the freedom to hike and send the gnarliest terrain on the globe with the power, control, and split-second response of a downhill racer. The Banshee Pro leads the new class of ultra-high-performance freeride boots, and it is not for inexperienced skiers or the faint of heart. If you need more proof, just ask pro skiers Eric Roner and Jeremy Nobis, who helped design it.

Bottom Line: All-out (of bounds) performance.

THE boot

By:
May 4, 2009

I can't find any fault at all with this boot after half a season of heavy use. All the add-ons (vibram, toe box, gel pad) seem to really make a difference. No shin bang or mashed toes for me. The semi-booster strap is great, you can really crank them down with it. Once you get these dialed in the power and response is amazing. These boots love to charge hard on any surface. Don't be fooled if they seem flexy when they are warm, once the shell gets cold it stiffens up . I did get a surefoot footbed, but that's it. I love the lange liner, after maybe 10 days it felt great with no pressure points anywhere. I ended up going a whole size down from what I usually wear, so keep that in mind when ordering. Awesome big mountain boot.

One burly, kickass boot.

As to be expected from Lange - one hell of a boot. This is my third pair of Langes over the past 7 or so seasons and love this one even more than the previous two (120 Comp and 120 WC). Just like the others, this is a quick, responsive boot with tons of power that has a snug fit. It has a nice high cuff and progressive, but stiff flex that provides and transmits a load of power to the ski. The thick, elastic power strap is an sweet addition allowing the the boot to be really cinched down, almost better than a Booster strap which Ive had on my previous boots. Like the 120 WC, not the most fun to take on or off as they too have a hell of a bite, but it's a small price to pay for the performance. Lastly to top everything off, the boot has a nice clean, classic look. Nothing fancy or shiny like some of the other gimmicky/cheesy looking boots out there. Can't speak highly enough of these.

Exactly what Erik said. The Vibram soles make more of a difference than I thought they did. Great for hiking.

The Banshee is a good hiking boot. The details on the boot like the shock-absorbing footbed and toebox, make it a comfortable fit and easy to hike in. The Vibram soles are sweet!

it's comes 98mm last, but remember that a boot fitter can make all the difference. I have a pretty wide foot. $40 for a little grinding and punching and these are perfect. too many things I like on this boot to compromise for something else.

Maybe a little late, but I tried these boots on this past season and found that they were a little too tight for my medium width foot.

This boot has a 98mm last, so it will fit a medium to narrow width foot. Hope that helped.

Great boots

By:
February 4, 2009

I love these boots - great flex and plenty stiff enough. I'm 6ft 200lbs,I am a borderline advanced/expert skiier, and ski around 35 days per year. To be honest I was concerned these might be too stiff, but I'm really pleased with my choice. Can certainly flex the boot fine, even on 15F days. Make my backcountry boots (Garmont Axom) seem puny in comparison. One disclosure, I bought mine from Surefoot with their customer liners - I have narrow feet and the fit is excellent.

The liner does have laces, but only four eyelets near the top. More useful for walking than tightening.

bashee pro crushes..im stoked

ski 100+ days a year..
this boot is sick. some really great design aspects, and nice new features. i am 6 ft 170-180 and this boot crushes, havent skied a more stable or better performing boot ever. if you charge shit this is a sick boot fer ya. i skied tecnicas my whole life. i suffered awful shin pains in the tecnica boot (esp. the diablo line). this banshee pro totally outperforms. the high cuff eliminates shinbang, sick liner this year( with a new toe foam part that has eliminated any toe pain) oh yeah great to land on from an air. ....id say go with a totally custom insole though. night and day. people underestimate the differance. seriously in any boot you own, it is worth the 200 bucks for a custom footbed (see a reputable boot fitter)... totally worth the money...just get em dialed in, you wont regret it.
