The Dynastar Legend Pro Rider alpine ski can be summed up by its name. The Pro demands and delivers a high-performance ride. This season, the 194cm sports the same sidecut as the 186cm, making this mammoth ski even bigger. The Pro Rider is not designed for the faint of heart. Made for Mach 50 straightlines, powerful big mountain pow turns, and explosive inbounds schralping, this ski will give you the ride of a lifetime. The mixed wood core, titanium laminate, and full-length sidewalls make this ski one you've gotta stay on top of. The Pro's beefy 90mm waist makes it the perfect choice for steep open pow fields, while its stiff torsional rigidity keeps it responsive and aggressive in less desirable conditions. The Pro comes in just two burly sizes, 186cm and 194cm.
The Legend Pro is the best powder/off piste ski I have ever used. Very stable, light and deceptively fast. Excellent in powder and crud. Surprisingly agile on groomersno dead or squirrelly feel on groomers as with most of the powder skis I have tried on hardpack. Punches effortlessly through tracked up off-piste terrain. A lot of ski to handle that actually pushes back in powder at the bottoms of turns and that is very fat underfoot. I'll be sticking to my Atomic Metron Beta 5's on non-powder days when skiing in-bounds. When headed off-piste, or on powder days, the legend Pro will be on my feet.
The Legend Pro is an amazing powder ski ideal for larger-built / aggressive skiers who enjoy skiing GS / Super G in the powder. A powerful and super stable ski at high speeds, the Legend Pro (formerly the Super Nobis), is a race stock ski that demands the fall line. The ski blasts through crud yet can still carve on the groomers if you lay them out. Narrow at waist vs. other "big mountain fats," but will still float if you point it. The best powder ski I have ever experienced. 194 is the way to go. This is one French product you don't want to boycott.
This is THE ski. The Pro Rider is the reference in big mountain ski. I'm 5ft 7in 150lb and ski about 100 days a year, and the size of the ski and its stiffness were never a problem. If you find this ski too much its not because of the ski its because of your abilities. Its super stable even in the roughest terrain, feels like a train on track, and very predictable. Surprisingly versatile in narrow lines because of its nice shape. If you are looking for the best ski for big mountain, this is it. Last year I had the chance to test 16 big mountain skis for ski press magazine. The Pro Rider came on top by far all the testers agreed. I liked them so much I bought a pair. And remember always go big or go home.
This is a specific ski for a specific type of skier. If you charge hard and your style is big mountain, then there isn't a better ski on the planet. Yes you have to work hard but in some ways it is also forgiving because of its race factory construction. If you love skiing groomers or want to hit the moguls then forget it. I am 5ft 7in, 130lb so you dont have to be heavy to use this ski, just a strong skier. I ski an average of 8 months a year as a ski patroller and have never had a ski that has made me feel like a God. This ski really is for the pros.
Bottom line this was the best all around fat ski I skied last year. This ski rips on the groomers when you're heading to the lift line. But before you get their this baby will take you to places you never thought possible. This ski is a race room designed and built ski and skis just like that. Yeah it's expensive but it's worth every penny and then some. UNREAL!
