Dynafit Se7en Summits Touring Ski - 2007

The Dynafit Se7en Summits Touring Ski has the versatility to perform in all conditions, on any mountain, on all seven continents. Boldly named for the seven highest peaks on Earth, the Se7en Summits boasts a core of paulownia wood, which is thought to have the highest strength-to-weight ratio on the planet. Dynafit wanted to create a lightweight ski that still has the muscle needed for ski mountaineering, so the Se7en Summits also features spring steel inserts underfoot to give you rock solid edging, and a quick-initiating yet forgiving sidecut for when a small miscalculation might have dire consequences.

Bottom Line: Make the Seven Summits your worldwide ski resort on this Dynafit AT ski.

7 Summits are solid

Excellent edge hold, very predictable in hard pack, chop and powder. My 178 cm skis weighed 6.39 lbs, which is excellent for touring.

This is my all conditions ski for long tours, huts, skinning and everything except big powder days.

The tips did not dive in deep powder 17", but they didn't stay on top either, nor would you expect 113 mm tip to do so. What surprised me was that they cut thru powder without problem and were not deflected.

Question about ski lenght. I weigh 140 lbs and am 5'8".

Question about ski lenght. I weigh 140 lbs and am 5'8". I am wondering whether I should get the 170s or 178. I ski on narrow (100,67,88) 177 now and they are fine ( would not want to go shorter with this ski for sure). I have an advanced ski ability and ski mainly in the backcounty and want a ski for all conditions that is still light. BTW I am also swithcing from tele to AT.I would be inclined to get the 178's but it seems strange that someone of my size would take the biggest size they make. Am I missing something? Will someone over 6ft with advanced ski ability just have to choose another model that comes in a bigger size?

Suprisingly great all rounder!

My favourite spring and summer ski mountaineering ski.Skied off the summit of Mount Baker at least five times this summer!
What amazed me is how well they held skiing in Chamonix, and La Grave in bounds as well as out of bounds.I was even able to do some mogul skiing in these babies!
If you are Alpine ski racer they kind of remind me of a light gs race ski.
Oh Yah and they hold well on jump turns in steep chutes.
I am 5-9 155lbs to 160lbs and I was on 170cm.
