The DAKINE Scout Mittens provide adjustable insulation to keep your hands at the right temperature whether you spin laps in the park, huck cornices, or cruise groomers. In addition to their lofty Thermoloft synthetic insulation, the Scout Mittens include removable stretch fleece liners for even more warmth on colder days. Waterproof breathable DK Dry inserts provide moisture protection when you ride slushy snow, and long gauntlets keep the flakes out on deep pow days.
Bottom Line: Ride it all with the DAKINE Scout Mittens as they keep your hands warm and dry.
My boyfriend snowboards and wears seperate wrist guards underneath his gloves. He's looking for mittens that will fit over top of his wrsit guards. Would these work, or is there a better pair? He's probably a L or XL in size. Thanks!
Super warm and toasty gloves, great for the colder days up north. The liners pull out, making it very versatile. Liners for warmer days or driving, outers for cool or cold days, and both together for those crazy cold days the lifts can't decide to run or not in the mornings. Only thing I wish this glove had was a short cuff version.
Do the removable liners flip back to reveal your fingers? Also, how much do they weigh? Lastly, I'm having trouble deciding between these or the Outdoor Research Meteor mittens; any advice?
No, the removable liner is just a removable liner. 0.98 lbs for the weight. I would stick with these. I have always had a good experience with DaKine and they offer a lifetime warranty.
I love that it has a cinch at the base of the glove and another one right at the wrist. My only complaint is that they're bulkier than I would like in the fingers. It may just be because I am used to my children's XL that I used last year but these seem harder to grab with. The material's super warm but breathable so my hands don't sweat even if I leave the liner in.
Decent glove that repels water. The insert is really cool for warmer weather. When the insert and glove are used it is really warm. Can't go wrong, I'm a big fan of Dakine gear. Pretty cheap glove that works really well and is tough. Runs a bit small.
Do these have what I call a "kiddy Strap" to hold the mitten to the sleeve when the mittens are hanging and not attached. Helps keep the mitten from falling to the ground when riding a chair lift. If so, is it removable?
Good mittens for the price. Keeps my hands warm. I never really notice if my hands are too hot. The one problem I have with these mittens is that the cinch is not at the very end of the gauntlet. The cinch is attached much like the the elastic at the bottom of your ski/snowboard pants. I like that on my pants but not on my mittens.
This is a Men's glove. How to Measure:Gloves: Measure the hand circumference around your hand at the widest point excluding the thumb. Just below the base of your fingers. Then click on size chart under the select options drop down box.If you order before dec. 15 it will be there before Christmas.
i like the long cuffs, elastic cuff cinch, and wrist lanyards. over the wrist strap allows for easy removal. very versatile with the removable mitts they come with especially for those of us that tend to sweat a bit. durable palm material. great value for the price.
I wear a men's large in gloves and mittens and these fit just right at a size large... but i'm no woman. If you get the wrong size, returns with backcountry are very easy and quick. Need to return something - no problem. Customer service is great.I wear a Women's large in mittens and a Men's small. I bought these in a small for my sister and they fit me great.
these are the best and my second pair of the scout model...yes they make your hands sweat a bit but they don't get cold do to the liner inserts...they wick away the moisture...and the canvas on palm holds up for carving hand drags.... a must buy for NE snowboarder who rides in colder conditions
