Good, but not great

I´ve used this bag for a year now, and it´s pretty solid. Can fit two pair of skis or one pair of skis and one pair of boots. Although, I would never recommend anyone two have their boots in the checked in luggage when flying. There´s also plenty of room for outerwear, gloves etc. If you want to fit more than two pair of skis though, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

I would not recommend this bag for those who are looking for a bag to hold all of your necessary gear. It fits two pairs of skis and poles just fine, but I was told that it would also hold two pairs of boots, and it doesn't even hold one pair of women's size.

How does this compare to the Dakine Concourse? Is it just the outer material that is different? Is there more padding on one vs. the other? Thanks.

The outer material is different. The concourse also has more pockets. Also, although similarly sized, the concourse is much bigger. It is an inch and a half wider, and comes in a 185 and 200 vs. the 175 and 190 of the fall line double. I'm not sure if this is still the case, but the concourse used to come with compression straps on the inside to tighten your gear down. With all that being said, I'd go with the fall line. I think it's a better value, and with airlines charging as much as they do, you'll be less likely to overpack, and have to pay extra fees for being overweight.

Good bag, small compartments

I have owned other roller bags namely a 200cm Head 4 pair bag, but I was looking for a bag that has some clothes storage. I thought the boot compartment would be good for that. With 2 pairs of skis in the bag though the compartments are a bit on the small side. i was really hoping for much larger storage option, but all in all it's a good bag, nice grips and well padded.

The 170s will most likely fit. There is usually a tiny bit of extra room. With that being said though, it is nice to go a size up to fit some extra gear when travelling, like your helmet, goggles, etc. 170 should work for 170 skis though.

I have a 185cm bag from Dakine that fits my 185s just fine. so i would say if you are skiing 170 then get the 170. however, if there is a chance you will get a bigger ski in the future then buy up. you can always pack extra stuff in your ski bag.

I have never owned a better ski bag. It got so much room for clothing, boots etc. The wheels are super-durable and made for hard use. I would never choose anything else than DaKine ski bags after this.

I can say that i can fit two 100mm skis with freeride AT bindings in my bag. you may need to flip a set so the bindings don't line up. but it should work.
