Hey... something doesn't make sense.

30" x 14" x 13" = 5460cu in (90l) yet you list this bag as 4000cu in (65L)

The 2007 model was listed as 30 x 14 x 13 and 5500cu in.

So which is this bag? is it 4000cu in or 5500cu in?

Write your question here...When separated, what do the two bags look like --- is one without wheels? Can that one be carried as a backpack? Also, when separated, can they be carried on as your two allowed pieces? Thanks

They split right down the middle so one will have wheels the other will not. No the seperate one does not have backpack straps. Also this bag is pretty big so even when the bag is split in two it is not really made for carry on. The split feature is made more to split the bag in two so you do not get hit with weight fees.

Holds a ton of stuff ... and my ski boots and helmet fit easily in the larger half. (It splits into two bags ... in case you are overweight and need to solve that problem quickly.) Also very durable.

A buddy of mine had one and we went on a ski trip and it didn't take long to realize that my standard roller bag was super lame compared to this thing. Not only does Dakine have the sickest designs on the outside, the compartments are super sweet and help you stay organized on the inside. I wear a size 13 shoe and I can fit one pair comfortably and up to 1.5 pairs in the smaller pockets on the top half(inside). I had a hard time deciding between the 90L and the 120L. I came to this conclusion. 90L can pack a little over 50lbs of clothing which gets you close to the standard limit on an airline. But with today's airline economy, you might just get the 120L since you have to pay to check it anyways and have enough space to practically fit your whole closet into it! Either way you go, these bags are so sweet and people in the airports look at them probably wishing they had one!
