DAKINE Split Convertible - Women's - 7300cu in - 2007

DAKINE created the Women's Split Convertible to help bring-the-kitchen-sink type travelers get all their gear to the plane and avoid harsh overweight baggage fees. This 7300cu inch DAKINE bag rolls to the check counter from long-term parking on tough urethane wheels and thanks to an extendable handle. Once there, you can split the Split Convertible into two smaller bags and check them individually to keep from dropping more dough to the airlines.

Bottom Line: Travel heavy without paying overweight fees thanks to the DAKINE Split Convertible.

Verdict Still Out

Received my bag just a few days before my trip to Mexico. Tip to La Paz for Diving. Used for clothing and gear.
Pro:
The bag idea is great
Material, buckles, and zippers feel durable
Good space(Clothing one side,gear other side)
Con:
Awkward to take apart/put together in a hectic airport and customs
Top sections lacks support by itself
As one unit, bag will not stand up on it's own, always have to prop-up against something. Not good when standing in many lines going through customs.

Will try again on other future trips.
