DAKINE Charger Glove - 2007

The DAKINE Charger Gloves combine a low-profile design with a midweight fleece lining for a park-and-pipe look that takes on the entire mountain. Park gloves would be great if they weren't so freaking cold. DAKINE fixes this eternal dilemma with the insulated Charger Gloves. They also added burly leather palms for excellent durability and grip. Rounding off the features, the Charger Gloves have a hook-and-loop wrist closure to seal out snow without the need for a bulky gauntlet.

Bottom Line: Don't freeze your fingers in too-thin gloves. Get to the mountain with the low-profile but still warm DAKINE Charger Gloves.

Perfect for the right application

I have thick hands which tend to overheat rather than get cold so I grabbed these of steepAndCheap. I keep a super warm pair in my backpack just in case usually. These gloves are tactile enough that I didn't have to take them off when pull out a trail map, zipping up/down my soft shell or hard shell, unzipping the nozzle from my hydration pack strap, undoing my helmet, and tightening my ski boots. The only time I took them off was to take an impromptu whiz in the woods, but I'm not sure I even needed too than.

I snow-shielded the palms for good measure, so I'm not sure how they would repel water without it. Its a standard step for any glove as far as I'm concerned.

I've been looking for a green as well, and it seems to be sold out everywhere. Even on DAKINE's site they don't have the green anymore. Bummer. :(

for temps above 32 degrees Fahrenheit

It was my bad, I didn't do enough research and used these gloves in sub-zero temps (12 degrees). I was fine going down but when I was on the lifts, all the heat left my hands. I'll use them for spring riding. Pretty durable but not much insulation.

Mediocre

I got these gloves as a present.. they look sick and feel comfortorable, but as other people have said, they do not do so hot in very cold temperatures. At one poin, my hands turned purple.....but deffinently a very steezy spring skiing glove.
