DAKINE Ridge Backpack - 1890 cu in - 2005

The DAKINE Ridge Pack packs a boatload of function into a stealthy-looking package. You've had the experience of schlepping around a huge pack as you punch that untouched bowl. And unfortunately, you've had the experience of that pack messing up your flow. The DAKINE Ridge Pack would never do that to you. It's a teardrop-shaped, back-hugging gear hauler that provides ample space for everything you need to stay safe when you go beyond area boundaries. Hike and ride with catlike grace, thanks to the Ridge. And thanks to ski and board carries, an insulated Hydro Sleeve and a quick-draw ice axe/shovel handle holster, you're ready for apocalypse snow.

Bottom Line: Tackle the headwall by way of the Ridge.

High Quality Backcountry Daypack

By:

This has been the perfect backcountry daypack! Ample space for all the necessary: avalanche safety gear, extra layers, board storage/snowshoes, lots of water, and a delicious lunch... what else is there? A large fit me really well (I'm 6,1") and my favorite feature hands down is the easy storage access with board attached.

Great Backcountry Ski Pack!!

By:
February 22, 2006

This pack rocks! I have used the Heli Pack and the Heli Pro for small backcountry excursions for the past two years, and they don't even compare. The tear-drop design keeps the pack weighted great even when packing a ton of gear. The back open panel is perfect for accessing your gear without taking your skis off. Definitely worth every penny!

works as advertised

This pack was the first of this style that I tried. Lots of extras. Worked as a carry on flying. Carried skis securely. Felt good on my back even on the chair. The pack is perfect for all day from Breckenridge to Mt. Bohemia. Rock On!!!

Dakine Ridge backpack

By:

Great pack, lots of places to store your gear - like the separate pocket for shovel and the back access panel. The only thing that could be improved is DAKINE’s lack of padding in the shoulder straps, Burton packs have great padding on the shoulder straps and it would be great if DAKINE added some.

this Dakine Skipack is great

Great comfort can be found in a daypack. The DAKINE ridge pack is very comfortable, I also find the shoulder straps good enough, but some may say they aren’t the best. The pack even has lumbar support for your lower back. Along with pockets for just about anything, there’s a sleeve for your bladder hose in the left should strap, so the water left in the hose won’t freeze. I also like the goggle pocket on the top, great backpack, all I need now is a weekender backpacking pack!

Top notch

My pack was everything I needed, but I feared the quality would lack. The pack is of great quality and I would definitely buy another in the future, which will probably be a while. This pack is going to last.
