Dagger Blackwater Series Kayak - 2005

Versatility is great stuff, and the Dagger Blackwater Kayak Series has it in spades. Three sizes of Blackwater let you get the right size for your needs, be it a first boat for kids, an all around recreational boat for everybody, or a bigger platform for fishing or big folks. No matter who you are, the Blackwater's bevy of comfort features will make you happy. A Camlok adjustable highback backrest, Thermoform seats and Aircore lumbar support all adjust and reform to support your lower body for comfort and control. The Blackwater has a Tru-Trak drop skeg that lets you track a straight line for workouts or turn fast and easy when maneuvering is key. The Blackwater's oversized cockpit is easy to get in and out of, and its stability makes it perfect for confidence and skill building. Beginners, fishermen, and just about anyone else who enjoys spending some time on the water will enjoy the Blackwater.

Bottom Line: We promise not to sing the song if you buy one.

Daggar Blackwater 11.5 on Whitewater

By:
October 6, 2005

Versatile kayak especially as its name represents on Blackwater. We have a little trouble on Whitewater though. Maneuvering is especially difficult since you don't want your scag down with surface rocks and without your scag the kayak will turn on you when you’re trying to head in a particular direction through white water. Also, the hole fills up with water easily. We have skirts but forgot them both times we went whitewater so our mistake. I think if you are to use the Blackwater in whitewater, do yourself a favor and get a skirt. We've been using the scag in white water hoping not to do any damage and so far so good.

Great kayak for all levels!

By:

Just spent the three-day weekend taking this on its maiden voyage onto the river. I found it super stable and quick to turn - a really fun boat. Even got my mom out on this and she was able to navigate very well (never having kayaked before). Shipping and customer service was fantastic as always.

Excellent!

By:
June 4, 2004

Made my first adventure in it this past week. Started out a little scary for this beginner, but with some well advised help I was off and creating great memories. This boat is so easy to use that anyone thinking about getting into kayaking couldn't go wrong. And the price is perfect!

Row Row Row your boat

By:
August 15, 2005

This is my first kayak and I'm very happy with it. I bought the 12' and there is plenty of room for me. I'm 6'3 210lbs. If you like to do lightweight backpacking, there is plenty of space to go out for a 4 day weekend. If you’re looking for speed I would go with a day touring kayak.

Blackwater 11.5

By:
August 4, 2005

We love our Blackwater 11.5's! As beginner paddlers, we found that we were able maneuver the boats fairly easily, even in rough water. Enough storage space for at least three days worth of gear on the river, with plenty of room to spare. If you're thinking about it, DO IT!

Blackwater 11.5 Review

By:
March 9, 2005

The boat is fantastic. I think the drop-down skeg makes it the most versatile recreactional boat out there. Stable enough for confidence, but able to turn very quickly. Seat is fairly comfy. Storage is very useful. My shipping and cust. serv. from backcountry was above satisfaction. No problem.

Dagger Blackwater 11.5

A very enjoyable recreational kayak. Easy to tote and fun to paddle. The drop down skeg makes it paddle straight and true and turn on a dime.
