Columbia Star Lake Jacket - Girls' - 2009

When March comes in like a lion, and your girl has to walk to school in blustery weather, tell her to wear her Columbia Star Lake Jacket. This windbreaker has a hood to stop the wind from whipping around her hair and whistling in her ears and breathable, wicking mesh lining to prevent that swampy feeling when she alternates between running around and talking with her friends at recess. Should April not be so lamb-like, the water-resistant Columbia Star Lake protects her in light precipitation.

Bottom Line: Help her tame the lion.

I ordered this jacket online when we couldn't find it locally in my daughter's size. We absolutely love it.
Very functional, zips easily, stays clean (amazingly for what she does to it) It takes a lot of abuse. We've had an elongated winter in Montana this spring, and its really warm for how light it is. Love it!

Great jacket!

Got this jacket in the mail today and we love it. We like the blue vapor color. Not boy looking but a change from pink and purple. My little girl loves the color and is now glad they were out of the purple in her size. I ordered the size 7/8 she's currently in a 6 but will be able to wear it in the fall. I can tell she will be able to wear it for 2 years, a definite plus. I was so glad the arms weren't made for a monkey like some jackets. My daughter has short arms and these sleeves are great, plenty of room to grow but I won't have to roll them up 2 or 3 times like some jackets she's previously owned. I really like the waterproof/windproof aspect of this jacket. It really sold me. That's why I get cold, the wind goes straight through my jacket or my jacket will get wet in the rain and then I get chilled. I think I can throw a fleece jacket under this one and she'll be really warm on a very cold day and she'll stay dry in a chilly rain. The hood fits better than most jackets. Most hoods are just useless and aren't made to fit a child's head. The person that designed this jacket was brilliant, or was a parent at one time in their life. The hood stays on her head and will keep the wind out of her ears. Thumbs up Columbia. Oh and the stretchy wristband keeps the wind from going up her sleeves and from falling down over her hands. I am very impressed with this little jacket, glad I spent the money. It will be handed down to my younger daughter later, so I'm definitely getting my money's worth out of it. It should go 2 seasons for each, with the quality I think it will last and still look good but only time will tell. I highly recommend.
