Columbia Sierra Summette Winter Boot - Women's

Dart around town on a winter day with your feet encased in the cozy Columbia Women’s Sierra Summette Boots. These Columbia winter boots feature water-resistant suede uppers with faux fur collars that match your jeans and slacks alike. Non-bulky insulation protects your feet down to -25F. Lightweight TechLite midsoles absorb impact as you dash through slush puddles and tromp through snow piles to get your errands done. The lugged rubber outsoles prevent you from landing on your tailbone when you step onto ice.

Bottom Line: Leave the clunkers at home.

Great except for that squeak

By:
March 2, 2009

Perfect lightweight warm boot except after two months regular wear, both boots developed a loud annoying squeak.
Otherwise, awesome sole good for multiple ankle/foot articulations, not at all stiff. Warm for 30-60 minute hikes with dog in Wisconsin winter, even at -30 F (shorter hike that day :o)
Warm, lightweight and noisy.

How do these boots run? DO they run big or true to size?

Mine were typical Columbia sizing. My usually 7.5 M foot fit into the Columbia size 8M.

Great except for that squeak

Thought I posted this review earlier, but it didn't show up, so if this is 2X...
Warm in coldest WI weather for 30-60 minutes hikes with dog in deep snow and snowdrifts. However, both boots developed loud squeak after two months regular wear. Otherwise, the perfect boot.

These are so light, which I love, but concerned they won't

These are so light, which I love, but concerned they won't be warm enough to keep my toes from freezing when I walk or warm enough for football games. Live in the Northeast.

They're rated down to -25F, so you should be fine. Throw on a pair of warm socks just in case.

Good overall

Definitely warm and protective. Tromped through inches of Chicago snow and slush without feeling a thing. My only problem is the right show squeaks when I walk--it feels like there is a crack or something in the sole. This started maybe a week after getting them, so it's not from too much use.

Boots cold in the toe area

By:
December 8, 2008

These boots are light and feel great on your feet but they are NOT warm in the area where it's rubber. Where the fabric ends, so does the warmth! I was out in 39 degree weather, had on wool socks and my toes got icy cold. It says good to 25 below.... trust me, they're not! I called the company and they just shrugged me off.... well you're the only caller. I couldn't believe it. I expected much more from Columbia. They 'had' a good reputation until now in my book.

Warm but slippery.

I live in Jackson Hole, Wy. It gets plenty cold here, and these boots have kept me warm enough. Their performance on ice, however, not so good. So I would say these boots are great for tromping through the snow, but watch out if you come upon any ice.

Passed the test in a Buffalo NY winter!

By:
December 23, 2008

I purchased these boots because I have a puppy that needs to go outside very often. We've had 12 inches of snow in the past 24 hours, with temperatures as low as 8 degrees. They have kept my feet dry & warm. They are also high enough to keep the snow from getting inside. Best boots I've had in years!
