Columbia Science Park Cyberpack - 2500 cu in - 2006

The Columbia Science Park Cyberpack is the rocket scientist of daypacks. Whether you're in to astro-physics or quantum mechanics, the Science Park keeps all of your data safe and secure in transport. The double compartment Science Park daypack has a padded, side-loading laptop compartment to protect your powerbook on the road. Ample room for files, books, and research make the Science Park ideal for lab assistants, professors, and scientists in training. The inner organizer panel keeps pens, pencils, test-tubes and Petri-dishes well organized and the two side expandable mesh pockets hold a quart of H2O each.

Bottom Line: Columbia blinds you with the Science Park Cyberpack.

Great for laptops, not so great for outdoors

This backpack has lots of room for packing your laptop and tons of additional items. The main storage compartment is very large. It has other smaller pouches which come in handy for items that require easy access. One pouch should fit power cords which are smaller than mine. I have a fairly bulky power cord for my bulky HP laptop and the power cord does not fit any of the exterior pockets, but you should have more than enough room in the main compartment for your power source. As I mentioned, I have a fairly bulky HP laptop and it fits well in the laptop compartment. I really like the side access to the laptop compartment. One thing negative about the bag is that the straps are too thin. They are well insulated; however when you load this bag to capacity with heavy items, the width of the straps causes some discomfort in the shoulders after extensive wear with heavy loads. If you want a laptop bag for use on campus with a lot of room for stuff, this is your bag. However, if you want a bag that you can load down and wear on your back for long walks then you should look elsewhere. Targus has great ergonomically designed laptop bags that distribute the strain of the weight to your upper back and shoulders.
