Lace up the Columbia Men’s Pagora Mid Omni-Tech Shoe for wet hikes and lightweight overnights. This hybrid shoe combines the stability and protection of a boot with the comfort and flexibility of a trail shoe. Your feet stay dry through the wettest trails thanks to an Omni-Tech waterproof membrane, and the gusseted tongue keeps out rocks, dirt, and moisture. Funk-footed folks fear not, the AgIon antimicrobial footbed wards off boot stench. A nylon shank keeps the shoe stable on questionable terrain, and the Omni-Grip rubber outsole gives you solid traction in slippery circumstances.
Bottom Line: The support of a boot, the comfort of a shoe.
I love these boots. Before I bought them I had all kinds of foot problems from shin splints to heal spurs. Now I can go anywhere. I threw my orthotics away. These boots give me the support I need, w/out the weight of a heavier boot. They worked great splashing through puddles and kept me very warm hiking in Alaska in 45 degree weather with wind driven rain blowing sideways. I highly recommend them. They are not water proof in the sense that they are not rainboots. If you stand in an ankle deep puddle for a few minutes, you will get damp socks. But if you hike for hours and splash through puddles less than 4 inches deep, your feet should be fine.
currently looking a buying these boots...However, I'm wondering how they hold up in cold weather. Do they provide warmth? People have recommend them for summer hiking, but hey seem and feel pretty thick and well insulated to me. I will be spending about a week in the patagonia, mid winter, with some snow for sure. I figure as long as they're waterproof I'll be fine with the snow, but am a bit concerned about the near freezing temperatures.
This is more of a summer/fall boot great for hiking trails with mud, water and rocks, they will work fine for ur trip with a pair of smartwools and if need extra warmth toss in some toe warmers but for serious winter hiking I would suggest buying a boot with gore-tex something like La Sportiva FC 3.0 GTX-XCR Hiking Boot..nothing beats Gore-Tex XCR. Happy travels
I bought these shoes on short notice for a weekend of hiking. Not only did they arrive in time, but they were amazingly comfortable right out of the box. There was no need for me to break them in at all! Paired up with some wool socks, these boots kept me on the trail and on my feet the entire trip. Didn't get to test out the water-proofing. Overall, these boots were great and I am extremely glad I ordered them over some of the others I was looking at.
I love them. After going on multiple day hikes and camping trips with these boots I can say that they are perfect. slipped into a creek and my feet were not wet. Also kept my feet very warm at night. The ankle support is great.
I've worn a pair of these shoes for about four months. Their great! I have problems with ankle-roll, so the mid-ankle height is perfect. They do appear to run a tiny bit wide, but not enough to be a problem. As with all trail and hiking shoes you should buy a 1/2 size larger than your dress shoe size. HTH
I have worn these boots on five 10+ mile hikes in the past month. I would recommend breaking them in before your first hike. Wear around the house and such. But I have only great things to say about these boots. Hold up prefectly and even though they are mid high, they have great ankle support.
They run true to size. I usually wear a size 10.5 or 11 and a 10.5 fit perfectly. But remember you will be wearing wool socks with these books, so going half a size bigger maybe the right thing to do. The boots also fit a narrow-to medium width foot. If your feet are really wide I would go with a different boot.
Break in these shoes around the house. Then hit the trail. I've used these shoes on several day hikes of at least 8 miles with no problem. Even on a muddy trail and crossing creeks, they did great. Runs true to size.
ok, this is the fourth set of columbia's i purchased. the first set was great (panther ridge) and long lasting but the following two sets were mediocre as far as longevity although comfort was always good. I would like to be able to say what series the middle two were but i can't (sorry). that being said i bought these for a steal at 69.95 and wish i would have bought 3 sets when the price was at that level. i received them promptly and they have been top notch since day one!! light waterproof and stylish!! my only concern to date is wear but so far they seem to be holding up well. please bring them back close to that price in the grey and i will be buying more!!!
