Columbia Mountain Tech Top - Short-Sleeve - Women's
The Columbia Women's Omni-Dry Mountain Tech Short-Sleeve T-Shirt takes on anything from a summer hike to a winter ski trip thanks to fast-wicking, quick-drying performance. This 100% polyester Columbia T-shirt makes a great base layer during the colder seasons, and it works by itself to keep you comfortable in warmer weather.
Bottom Line: Tackle any season with the Columbia Omni-Dry Mountain Tech T-Shirt next to your skin.
I bought the men's version of these for a male friend of mine and I liked them so much that I bought 3 of the women's cut for myself. They've got a flattering cut for a woman, the fabric is smooth and touchable, and they are a great mid-weight t-shirt with decent wicking ability. The Lemon Meringue (yellow) is a little bit more see-through than I would prefer, but the Gin (green) and Geranium (pink) are completely opaque.
The shirt fabric and weight is great. I bought it on sale and got the 'gin' color. The color on the website isn't as bright as the shirt turned out to be. It's more like a lime green; not as grey/sage as it looked on the site. The color is perfect for blondes. Not terrible on me but not great either. I gave it to a (blonde) friend who loves it.
These seem to hold in some stank even after I wash them. Any idea how to get it out? I've tried a laundry soap with Febreeze but the results were marginal. Has anyone tried Penguin Sport Wash? I would buy it if backcountry sold it.
Hey, Hikes. Try 1/4 cup of distilled (white) vinegar in your wash load with your regular detergent (I've found that Arm & Hammer kills smell the best of the detergents). It's a fix of the old wives variety, and it works like magic. I learned this this summer on the Appalachian Trail when I was crewing for Karl Meltzer during his speed record attempt. The smell of his clothes could (and did) peel paint. A trail friend named Trail Angel Mary passed on the tip and we all lived happily ever after.
I got this shirt because it was so much chepaer than a lot of the other tech shirts, and i didn't expect to like it as much as I do. I was pleasantly surprised! It fits great, feels super light and keeps me very cool. It isn't clingy and doesn't have any of the wierd seaming that a lot of other shirts do and is nice and long. After a few washes it hasnt' shrunk up like a lot of my other tech tees do.
This is my 3rd Columbia Mountain Tech Top. They fit very well although the sizes do run small, and are very comfortable in the summer heat of Florida. I usually use a small for all my shirts yet a small is somewhat snug and a medium fits well.
The fabric is buttery and soft. I love the lines that add detail to an otherwise plain shirt. It is a great fit and not as short as some of these types of shirts can be. The color was wonderful. It is very cool in hot weather, too.
I also bought the gin color and i am brunette and think it goes great. it is NOT lime green. I would say it might be a little lighter than the picture, but it all depends on how color calibrated your monitor is. anyway, i love the T, i wear it mostly for biking and sometimes for hiking. It has a nice relazed fit (i HATE tight body hugging tech Tees) this has nice contours and wicks well. I know some people think Columbia is lame, but their Titanium line is awesome and such great prices. I am considering getting another one, i wish they other two colors weren't so pastel pink and yellow. A blue would be nice.
I really like these shirts. I bought two of them because I like the fit. They aren't clingy at all and breathe really well. No chaffing and super comfortable. Only downside would be the smell. I do have to wash them after each run which is fine, but I wish they didn't hold odor like some of my other tech tees.
