Columbia Grandma Grabber II Sweater - Infants' - 2008

Keeping mittens on your infant’s hands is an exercise in futility. Thankfully the Columbia Infants’ Grandma Grabber II Sweater has fold-over hand flaps. An attached hood with elastic adjustability, plus the attached hand flaps, help contain your infant’s body heat. The embroidered bear on the back and front chest of this fleece hoody add fun detail.

Bottom Line: Forget messing around with mittens and a winter hat.

Can't go wrong!

This fleece jacket is perfect for your little one. They are cozy, comfortable, it fits well when buckled in the car seat (Not bulky) yet it keeps my daughter nice and warm, and the hood stays on great to keep her little ears covered. It's a nice option as well that I can fold over the cuffs to cover her hands. Great item.....I bought several in different sizes so I have them as she grows!

Top of the line recommendation

By:

These little coats were just what my daughter was looking for to shield her twin boys this winter in Michigan. The construction and quality of the material is top line. Having a hood and built in mitten were a bonus for these one year old's. Let the winter winds blow they are ready to go.

I live in New York & the weather out here right now goes

I live in New York & the weather out here right now goes up & down between the 40's & 50's & sometimes the 60's. Would this coat be good for my 5 month old son to wear now?

Great late winter/early spring coat

By:
March 25, 2009

Great fleece jacket, mittens are especially helpful. Our daughter outgrew her 0-3 month jacket and this one will fit her awhile. Size was a bit off as she is in 6 month clothes otherwise and this is a little big but hopefully that means it will fit in fall. Do wish there were other colors-light pink, light blue or lilac but the red is sharp and the little bear on the back darling.

Love it! I'm buying another one.

By:

It is not a sweater, it's a fleece jacket. It is lightweight, but isn't any lighter than the other columbia fleece items I have for my 6 mo old. Since it's not too thick and bulky, it should be great for the carseat. I LOVE the fold over mittens and elastic hood.

Does this style with the built-in mittens come in toddler sizes?

Does this style with the built-in mittens come in toddler sizes? Or is there anything else out there (fleece, jacket, sweater etc.) with built-in mittens for toddlers?

Wonderful for a toddler or infant

By:
November 4, 2008

Perfect for the toddler that wont keep their mittens on, will keep them cozy and warm, nice close hood to keep out cold wind. Ordered a second for my daughter 4 months- ONLY problem with the jacket, is that the biggest size is 18-24 months. I want one for my 34 year old husband...

My little dude is warm

This is a great coat when layered with other clothing. Not a stand-alone jacket for cold weather. Fits true to size. My son is 11 months old and the 12 month coat fits excellent.

Great Hoodie!

Love this jacket. I feel that it may run just a tad big, but they grow so fast. Supersoft material. The bear on the back is supercute. Very practical built in mittens. All this at a wonderful price!

So warm and versatile

By:
November 26, 2008

I purchased this along with several other Columbia jackets to keep my 6 month old warm this winter. This one is wonderful because it's soft, very warm, and keeps her head and hands protected from the elements. It also fits my tall girl well. Compared to the other fleece jackets, it fits her torso the best. I have a feeling she'll be wearing it longer than the others. If you have a smaller baby, I would get a smaller size or it might be too big. I will definitely purchase this again in a larger size!

The twins' mother is going to love this jacket. It is a great grab and go apparel that is not too bulky by lots of warmth. Can't wait for Christmas to see their faces.

Just what I was looking for!

By:
November 26, 2008

This jacket is just what I was looking for. Warm, but not bulky so it fits nicely in the car seat. My daughters ears are completely covered and the hood doesn't slide off. Her hands are covered. It's a great jacket for the fall or a moderate winter. I wish they made little cover up pants to go with it. I would and I have recommended this jacket to friends.

snuggly soft!

This jacket is wonderful. I had ordered the same jacket in a different color for my grandson, and he wears it everyday. He can fit into a carseat easily with this jacket. Best features are the built-in gloves, and elasticized hood. Very true to size.

This jacket is just the right layering piece for little ones - and the foldover mittens and well-fitting hood make getting kids bundled up a much easier process.
