Columbia Glacier To Glade II Parka - Men's

Don the Columbia Men’s Glacier To Glade II Parka in its original form to face a full-force winter gale. When you pull up fireside to take a break, pull off the shell and relax for a few minutes in the quilted liner that’s packed with recycled synthetic insulation. The Omni-Tech waterproof breathable material keeps you dry when the snow flies, and waterproof zips on the pockets complete the watertight package.

  • Removable quilted liner has synthetic insulation that will still insulate even if wet
  • Made with 57% recycled polyester to ease your environmental conscience
  • Vented chest pockets to keep you comfortable on mild days

Bottom Line: Keep your insulation options open.

Overall Great Jacket

By:
January 16, 2010

I found this jacket to be very warm and it will definitely hold up in the elements. The one negative I found of the jacket is that it states the liner can be zipped in but there is no way to attach the liner to the shell. They are independent of each other. Other then that I love 3-1 jackets and this is the best one I have used so far.

All in all, a good jacket

By:

I ordered this jacket for my husband for our upcoming ski trip to Switzerland. He wanted a 3-in-1 jacket so that he could use the shell on chilly, wet days. We chose this one because of the down liner (vs. the Columbia Lhotse which has a fleece liner). My husband is 5'9'', 170 lbs, with about a 32'' waist. We got him a medium. The down liner is a bit short and is somewhat tight through the hips, but has plenty of room for arm and shoulder movement. He really likes the shell, and the fact that the vents under the arms open completely to the liner, with no "vent" fabric at all. His few complaints are that there is no specific place to store the hood once removed, so you'll have to use the goggle pocket or leave it at home. Also, the liner does NOT zip into the shell, but is a completely seperate jacket. They only attach with buttons at the neck and wrists to keep the liner from bunching. You still have to zip each layer separately. (The Columbia website says they zip together, though Backcountry does not.) All in all, it's a really nice coat, espcially for the price. I'd recommend it, provided that you understand the layers don't zip together, which is the only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5.

Good but a little tight

By:
December 29, 2009

I've had the jacket for a week now and am starting to think I need to return it. I am 6' and 185 lbs. Since I always order large everything, I ordered the large. However, it is a very snug and I am claustrophobic in it. Someone with even a small beer gut will find it way too tight. Also, it was in 30 deg. out this morning and I was still somewhat cold in the arms. Yesterday it was in the mid 30's but windy and the wind seemed to go through the outer and inner layers. The lining not being zippered in is a bit annoying when putting the jacket on and taking it off. I think I may return it, even though that is a big hassle (and I threw the box away). Doubt I'll order an extra large only to find out it is too big.

Great Parka

By:

Good-looking, comfortable, and warm coat. It's the best winter coat I have had. I am happy with the inside pockets and the hood. Backcountry.com were great to order this coat from. Received the coat rather quickly.
