Columbia Glacier To Glade II Parka - Men's

Don the Columbia Men’s Glacier To Glade II Parka in its original form to face a full-force winter gale. When you pull up fireside to take a break, pull off the shell and relax for a few minutes in the quilted liner that’s packed with recycled synthetic insulation. The Omni-Tech waterproof breathable material keeps you dry when the snow flies, and waterproof zips on the pockets complete the watertight package.

  • Removable quilted liner has synthetic insulation that will still insulate even if wet
  • Made with 57% recycled polyester to ease your environmental conscience
  • Vented chest pockets to keep you comfortable on mild days

Bottom Line: Keep your insulation options open.

All in all, a good jacket

By:
October 26, 2009

I ordered this jacket for my husband for our upcoming ski trip to Switzerland. He wanted a 3-in-1 jacket so that he could use the shell on chilly, wet days. We chose this one because of the down liner (vs. the Columbia Lhotse which has a fleece liner). My husband is 5'9'', 170 lbs, with about a 32'' waist. We got him a medium. The down liner is a bit short and is somewhat tight through the hips, but has plenty of room for arm and shoulder movement. He really likes the shell, and the fact that the vents under the arms open completely to the liner, with no "vent" fabric at all. His few complaints are that there is no specific place to store the hood once removed, so you'll have to use the goggle pocket or leave it at home. Also, the liner does NOT zip into the shell, but is a completely seperate jacket. They only attach with buttons at the neck and wrists to keep the liner from bunching. You still have to zip each layer separately. (The Columbia website says they zip together, though Backcountry does not.) All in all, it's a really nice coat, espcially for the price. I'd recommend it, provided that you understand the layers don't zip together, which is the only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5.
