These shorts look great but I had to return them because of the fit. They do not fit low on the waist as described, but low on the hips. If that's the fit you want these shorts would be excellent, especially if you have short legs and need a shorter length short so you don't look like you're standing in a hole :-)

Service from backcountry was excellent, prompt & friendly! This was my 1rst order from them, but won't be my last as the service they gave me on returning this item exceeded my expectations.

The first number refers to the size (meaning US women's sizing) and the second number refers to the inseam length in inches. For example the 8x8 is a size 8 short with an 8" inseam.
