It’s freezing and snowing on the slopes, so a down jacket will get soaked in two seconds, and you’ll freeze in a shell. Grab the Columbia Men’s Carabiner Mountain Parka. This three-in-one jacket’s shell has 10K-rated fabric and the removable liner boasts warm 550-fill down insulation. Secure the snap-back powder skirt, pull up the stow-away hood, and hop on the chairlift. When you start feeling a bit too toasty on the way down, unzip the Underarm zips and let some hot air out. When the sun comes out, remove the down liner and ski on in just the shell. This Columbia jacket’s active fit reduces bulk.
Bottom Line: Removable down for winter and spring skiing.
I just recieved this jacket from UPS and I suppose I'll give a basic review of it.The outer shell is a very lightweight jacket and looks like a windbreaker but is totally waterproof, I looked at the tags and it said that the water resistance was 20k and so is the breathability, hopefully BC will fix it. Also, there are no underarm zips for the shell or the down layer. The shell has 5 pockets, 2 for the hands, one chest pocket on the outside and 2 mesh pockets in the inside. The insulation layer is a bit puffy as it is down and also has 5 pockets, 2 for the hands, one zippered pocket on the inside, and 2 mesh pockets. All in all, this is a very good 3in1 jacket, the outer shell is highly rain and wind resistant and can be worn in warm days as it is very light, and also can be worn with the down layer for super cold winter days, with my last jacket, I couldn't wear the shell or the inner layer on warm days because they're both too warm, I shouldn't have a problem with this product.
I tried it out and on that very day, a cloudburst appeared while I was transfering from a subway station to another and had to go outside, everyone else was totally soaked, their umbrellas, their hoodies, their jackets(including TNF), but the only thing that wasn't wet was me, the rain just beaded and bounced off of my jacket and I was the only dry one to come in the subway station, just kinda funny.
if i buy it today, when can i reveive the parka? if i don't satisfy with this parka, how can i return it? if i live in michigan, how much do i have to pay for returning?
