Columbia Carabineer Mountain II Parka - Men's

Suit up with the Columbia Men’s Carabineer Mountain II Parka when you don’t know what gnarly weather the day’s going to throw at you. Its burly shell covers a soft goose-down liner jacket that has a much wider temperature comfort range than fleece shells or piles of layers. If it heats up too much, simply pull out the liner, compress it to the size of a soda can, and cram it in your backpack.

  • Welded seams keep weight down, ensure waterproofing, and make this jacket very packable
  • Zip-out down-filled liner jacket lets you easily stow your insulation when the day warms
  • Hood rolls up and zips into collar so it doesn’t flap in the wind when you’re not using it
  • Coat can be crushed to pint-size package for easy travel

Bottom Line: Lightweight and airy insulation wrapped in a bomber shell.

Love the jacket.

Ok - first of all, I have not used it out in the cold snow just yet - but will try it out by the end of the year.

What I like about this one is that the inner jacket is down, not fleece or polyester filling like other similar jackets.

Although this is a cold weather jacket like all of the others, the outer shell jacket is VERY thin. It is basically a waterproof shell, but it is very thin. The down is made to keep you warm, though.

I normally wear a size Small, but ended up with a Medium because the small was pretty tight once you put a few layers on under the jacket.

We'll see how it does in the cold and the snow, but so far, I really like it. Oh, and I would also like to mention is probably the lightest weight jacket of its kind. You can pack it into a little ball if you wanted to, it weights almost nothing.
