Columbia Arctic Trellis Parka - Women's - 2008

Wear the fleece liner in the Columbia Women’s Arctic Trellis Parka alone on mild, sunny days, and snap it into this jacket’s shell when the skies are cloudy. This three-in-one jacket’s hood adds a layer of protection when it starts snowing in town, and you can remove the hood to reduce bulk when the skies are clear. Leave your purse at home, stash your music player or cell phone in the interior media pocket, and keep car keys and a wallet in the front pockets. Feel free to bring this parka to the ski slopes too—it might not have a powder skirt for the deep fluff, but the water-resistant fabric will help hold off some moisture on groomer days.

Bottom Line: Change your mind about layering halfway through your day.

with the right base layer and headwear, this jacket should do very well in temperatures like that. There are no temperature ratings for apparel, and you have to go by hearsay. I feel confident that this will suffice in even lower temps.

Actually, I got this jacket for Christmas 2008, the colors are very deceiving and I'm thinking about returning it because of that. It is a dark green, the lighter green is more of a mint green--I think it would be difficulte to match the greens with a scarf..YUCK! Also, the white stitching runs over into the jacket--dont think that was supposed to happen.

I would assume that they zip and are covered (or sealed), since the shell is described as waterproof, but I don't know for certain.
