Coleman NorthStar InstaStart Propane Lantern w/ Carry Case - 2006
There's no pumping or messy fuel needed with the Coleman NorthStar PerfectFlow InstaStart Propane Lantern with Carry Case. Simply attach a Coleman propane canister and hit the ignition switch to flood your campsite or backyard with light. The NorthStar Lantern has a folding footed base for stability and compact storage. The included Coleman Insta-Clip tube mantle is easier to use and provides more light than traditional mantles. Turn the NorthStar Lantern on high while searching the forest for your lost contact, then dial it down to play cards around the picnic table.
Bottom Line: The NorthStar PerfectFlow InstaStart Propane Lantern is a no-fuss way to get bright light at camp.
You just need an adapter and hose or a propane mast, items CMN0045 and CMN0044 (just one, you don't need both) and you'll be set. The pressures involved are the same, so it'll work the same.
I was blown away at how much light this thang puts out. I think other campsites were kinda pissed it was so bright. I didn't have the instructions so I was a little confused about the insta light feature. All you do is crank the nob a few turns and it fires right up. You can also light it manually if the igniter fails. I am really stoked with this product. It is kind of a b**ch to get it back in the protective case, but It is nice to have when packing up your gear. I also read to be careful when threading in the propane tank cause if you thread it crooked it will ruin the threads. I had a few times where it started to thread a little crooked and I was very careful not to tear it up first use. Great product, 5 stars holmes
By "trying", you clearly mean "didn't try at all". Had you searched for "mantle" or "Insta Clip" or "Coleman", which covers every possible search term you could have used, you would have found these:http://www.backcountry.com/store/CMN0103/Coleman-Insta-Clip-Standard-Shape-Mantles-2-pk.htmlHope that's what you're looking for, and try just a touch harder next time.
All of Canada? Maybe you could narrow it down a bit. Or you could just buy them here (http://www.backcountry.com/store/CMN0103/Coleman-Insta-Clip-Standard-Shape-Mantles-2-pk.html) and have them shipped. That'd probably be the easiest.
I don't think I completely understand your question, but the case that comes with this lantern has "Model #2500" printed on the bottom of it.Inside this case it says "For Models: 5150/5152/5154/2500", and I think this lantern is a model 2500.
Your question all depends on what lantern you're trying to protect. Try this link:http://www.google.com/search?q=lantern+cases&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
How do the Northstar and Deluxe PerfectFlow differ? It appears the Deluxe has two mantle while the Northstar has InstaStart. Do the two mantles make it twice as bright? Just curious on the light output.
I have both units so I can testify that the single "accordion" mantle on the Northstar is just as bright as the dual mantle (it has also lasted over 10 outings and has yet to need a new mantle - only use the "gold" mantles)... Northstar also has a metal "protection ring/cage" around the glass and although the "insta-start" feature is great- (how many times has the match gone out on you just when you finally get it in the hole?) it can scare the heck outta you when it takes a few sparks to get the unit to "fire up"...bottom line- you get more cause it costs more and its worth the extra money for those unpredictable windy/rainy trips. The deluxe PerefectFlow is just like the whitegas lanterns of old except it has a new type of clamp that ties the glass to the top and frame. You still need another source of flame to light this unit- but it puts out good light and will last easily a night or two on one cylinder of propane ..same quality lantern but built a little cheaper (read above about getting what you pay for). Both lanterns are great for us while we camp/fish/hunt and I take them along every time...what I would like to know is....where can I find the plastic cases to protect them so I can use them for years to come and get rid of the cardboard box....HELP!ronstace@comcast.net
