Mixed routes, spring corn and frosty fall overnighters are all within the range of the stretchy, tough, and weather-resistant Cloudveil Inertia Guide Pant. The Inertia Guide Pant's breathable softshell fabric protects you from falling snow and morning mist without swamping your legs, and shrugs off abrasion that would put holes in most trousers. The seamless, gusseted crotch gives you plenty of room where it counts, and the Guide Pants' stretchy Inertia fabric won't hold you back on technical ascents. Cloudveil lined the waistband with brushed tricot to cut chafing from your hip-belt or climbing harness.
Bottom Line: Grab the Cloudveil Men's Inertia Guide Pants for your spring, summer, and fall backcountry trips.
Versatile and comfortable. We hiked Gray's & Torrey's Peaks, two of Colorado 14ers, on Sep 21. It was pouring rain when we started hiking, turned to sleet, then snow as we climbed. The clouds moved out and we had high winds and sun up high, then Indian summer conditions as we desecnded in the afternoon. The Inertia Guide pants were great in all conditions. They shed H2O and blocked wind enough that I was never cold. As well, I was not too hot as it warmed and the wind subsided. Very comfortable all day with a pack and waist belt. They have a good fit - not to tight or loose - ideal for hiking, and the slight stretch allows for comfortable climbing. They are not bulky, so a harness should fit well over them. The belt loop is a little narrow, but not an issue. All around great buy. I will likely use them for XC skiing, too.
I wear jeans 34x32 and that's a standard size for every other pant, so I got these in Large and to my disappointment 32.5 is too long. Otherwise these look like a great pants
Enertia fabric breathes really well and the lack of lycra allows it to dry faster than lycra based softshells. Mesh backed pockets are great for enhancing breathability in warm conditions and for allowing your body heat to dry out damp gloves as you hike. DWR sheds snow really well. Fit is superb and the stretch is fantastic. Cloudveil makes some really smart garments.
I wear a 36x32 and also ordered the large, but had to shorten the length by 2 inches. I used them in the Smokies and they kept me warm, dry, and breathed well. Very stretchy and giving fabric that seems very durable. Plenty of pockets though it usually takes both hands to open and close the zipper.
