Brain feeling sluggish? Grab a Clif Bar Builders Protein Bar out of your 12-pack, and pep up. Each of these bars contain a whopping 20 grams of protein, along with vitamins and minerals, to give you a boost when start to zone out rather than be in the zone. Clif Bar doesn't use trans fats, and this low glycemic bar won't cause a sugar high followed by the crash and burn.
Not quite as delcious as the regular Cliff Bar line, but the additional protein makes up for the slight taste difference. As far as designated protein bars are concerned this one takes the prize. Far tastier and not gritty. Also it fills you up pretty well, great for a snack on the go or a meal replacement when on the trail or your schedule is hectic.
My dad introduced me to Clifbar a year or so ago and I cursed his name for months for hiding their secret from me. They make tasty bars. Solid nutrition with a good focus on taste. The Builder bar is a "heavier" bar with more calories and fat for a longer burn. The chocolate coating makes it feel like I am eating cake, the nutrition value takes away the guilt during my workout.
20g of protein in 270 calories is one of the best ratios for the price range. These are great for any activities from running to backpacking to breakfast. They do have a chocolate coating, so you need to watch them in the heat, but totally worth the risk.
Holy crap these things are tasty. Better than most candy bars, except maybe Twix, and you won't feel guilty about eating them. Unless you're pounding them like they were, uh, candy. A little on the expensive side, but hey, you need the protein, right?
the chocolate peanut butter is my new favorite ride snack. my doc suggested i eat more protein to help with energy levels, so now i take these on long rides (the kind where you start before it's time for lunch and end when it's time for dinner). Sometimes i'll just eat half and save for the next ride, or sometimes the whole thing, depends on how long we are riding.
