Wear the Chaco Women's Leather Flip Sandals all day without getting blisters and tired arches. The Flips offer foot cradling support and smooth leather for buttery comfort.
Chaco's biomechanically designed footbed cradles every contour of your foot for surprising stability. Chaco used embedded air bubbles in the polyurethane sole to add padding and keep the spring in your step.
Bottom Line: With the Leather Flip, you get a casual look and all-day comfort.
The Chaco flip sandal is comfortable and good arch support. I usually wear a 6 1/2 and with these the 7 fit best. I still prefer the Columbia Tango flip sandal, but they don't seem to be made anymore?
These apparently used to come with Vibram soles, and were advertised as such, but that was no longer the case by the time I bought them. They seem pretty grippy nonetheless. The arch supports are great and the heel is a little cupped, so you don't end up with your heel squishing a low spot off to the side somewhere (which usually happens to me). They cost more than I would have ever thought to spend on flops, but it's completely worth it, since I wear them every day and don't feel like I'm ruining my arches.
I usually wear a 6 1/2, but with Columbia sandals, the 6 is usually the perfect size. Do these run a bit big or a bit small? I want to arch to fit properly. Thanks
I have to agree with Lauren, I am a 7 in dress shoes and ordered a 7 in these chacos and they are a tiny bit big; not lengthwise so much, but my foot has too much room to move around beneath the straps. So I say do not order up.
I bought these because I am pregnant and am due in the middle of Texas summer when it will be VERY hot. I needed a comfortable sandal with arch support that I could wear everyday. These go with everything. I love them! It took a couple of days to break them in. I made the mistake of wearing them to walk around the zoo right after I got them. I got sores on my foot where the straps go. Now that they are broken in I have not had any problems. I could never go back to cheap flip-flops again. These are highly recommended. I wish I had them in every color.
I bought the discounted sandal in discontinued Navel color. While they are very comfortable - soft leather and good arch support - I was disappointed at the bright orange color, which was very different from the yellowish tan color shown on the website photo. Unfortunately the color makes them much less useful for daily wear.
they are comfy and have good arch support, but they feel small for the size. I didn't return them but I can't really wear them either, because they are too tight.
This is my second pair of Chaco flip flops. The first pair were the ones w/half the strap was material & striped. Since I have high arches, my first pair did the trick so I could wear flip flops again!! The only thing I didn't like was the color, but for the price, beggars can't be choosy!! I have gotten a lot of compliments on them from folks who can't wear ordinary flip flops and they wanna know what brand they are and where I got 'em. Chaco comes through again. However, I did have to order 1/2 size bigger, otherwise, the straps would've been too tight!!
Pros: The arch support is great, and the leather is very soft all over the shoe
Cons: The leather on the sole is so soft that I sometimes find it difficult to keep the sandals on, because my foot slides right off of them. This is exacerbated by the fact that I apparently have extremely thin feet and the straps are not tight to my feet, there's quite a bit of sliding room. (I typically wear a 7 in dress shoes and ordered a 7 in these and the length is correct).
Also, the leather on the straps is not at all supple and somehow is creating a pinch on the top of my foot with each step. I'm seriously hoping that these sandals will get more comfortable with more wear.
This seems to be a flip flop for those with narrow, bony, problematic feet. The good parts: the leather was sooooo very soft and comfortable. The bad parts. First, the pair I got was asymmetric between the right and left feet, such that the left flip was fine but the right flip was too tight. (Apparently I have meaty feet. But I'm a normal sized person....) Second, the flip was not wide enough, so that my foot seemed to spill over the sides a bit. Third, the arch support was a bit too aggressive for me -- a short walk sent pains through my legs. I can see how the arch support would help if you have collapsed arches or other arch-related foot problems, but for those without these problems this feature may backfire. Fourth: the toe separator seemed to be a few millimeters too far back, such that my heel would look like it's sliding off. You may want to consider ordering a size up.
I ordered these shoes for a vacation that I knew I was going to be doing a lot of walking for. I have very high but fallen arches (meaning I need good arch support). I also had a recently sprained ankle. Although I wore the other sandals that I ordered, these definitely served their purpose, and were very comfortable. I'd recommend them to anyone who likes sandals, but has arch issues.
I have a rather high arch and these sandals are fantastic. I often do my neighborhood walking in them since they are way more comfortable than my walking shoes. I have owned several pairs and the longer I walk in them the softer the leather gets. Worth every penny
I read the reviews and bought a size up, never owning Chacos before. I have very small 6.5 size feet. I needed a good sturdy pair of flips that wouldn't hurt my feet when on long walks. These came and the 7.0 was good lenght wise but very narrow, even on my small feet! Not to mention the "mute burnt orange" color was more like burnt nacho cheese. The leather felt nice, but after a 10 minute walk the straps had rubbed my feet raw. Overall I think for the "Cinderella" foot these shoes would be great. But no Nacho Chacos for me thanks. I returned them promptly and Backcountry.com promptly gave me a refund no questions asked.
I bought these for my wife. She really likes them. THe size and comfort is good. But they are not the burt yellow that they look in the picture. They are bright orange.......she liked them any way.
These sandals are awesome. I have had problems with plantar fasciitis and these really give great arch support and are so comfortable. I recently went on vacation and decided to do my airport walking with my Chacos instead of my tennis shoes. Very impressed with this site. I ordered on a Sunday and they shipped that same day. Not only did I buy one, I bought two (black and brown). Lastly, these sandals are approved by the American Pediatric Medical Association.
I got these in a size 8 and at first i thought they were too small. I typically like my flips to be a tad larger than my foot and these are like the exact size of my foot. Once I realized the arch support in these was great I realized these are the perfect size for my foot! I don't need bigger because my foot is supported so well! Love these I have been wearing them almost every day since I got them.
These sandals are great! As others have mentioned, I have trouble with plantar fasciitis and these sandals help so much. The arch support is so worth the money. I too have worn these sandals around London and they were more comfortable than "walking" shoes or sneakers.
