The Chaco Flip Sandal's supremely comfortable and biomechanical design provides a stubbornly sticky grip while delivering barefoot-like comfort—you barely know you have them on. Designed to support your foot like no other, the Flip's footbed cradles every contour of your foot, and will not compress or wear out over time. Low-profile but super tough Colorado outsoles, made of grippy EcoTread rubber, offer 4x4 traction on tricky terrain like the woods, the creek or lets face it your little brother's college apartment. With a smooth look these flops work anywhere from a wedding to a camping trip.
Bottom Line: With its tenacious footbed and replaceable Vibram sole, the Chaco Women's Flip is not your run-of-the-mill flip-flop.
This is my 3rd pair of Chacos and i love em! Need i say more. They give me the support my feet need and are light weight. I am flat footed and can't wear regular flips so these work great!
This is my 3rd pair of Chaco flip flops, need i say more! I am flat footed and have foot issues so i can't wear regular flip flops these are super comfy and since i live in Texas i wear them year round.
From a style perspective, I love these flips! Very sleek lines, extremely comfortable footbed, and ultra light weight. But, they also have excellent tred, and are quite grippy on the rock in and out of the water. Even wore these occasionally to boulder around in slot canyons on the Grand Canyon last month and they high performance! They are sturdy yet playful, and very relaxing to unwind in at camp at night. Love the colors and variation in styles, and the shape and cut of the straps are perfect. Often can't wait to put these on after a long day ski touring or hiking and climbing outdoors.
Chaco flips are the best! I can't even imagine wearing another flip now that I have these. I can even walk the dog in them and I have all the support I need. I would recommend going up a size or a half size.
Not really a question... but whats up with the sizes topping out at 10?? In the past when looking for most things Backcountry is my go-to place because they always carry every size available, unlike most places. Was there a run on flip flops for chicks with big assed feet or what?
These are hands-down the best flip-flops I've ever owned. I spend the majority of my summer in these and I haven't even begun to wear them out. I used to go through at least 3 pairs of flip-flops in a summer and I've had these going on 3 years now and they still look and feel brand new. I've never slipped on the soles, even running down slippery trails. They also have arch support which makes a huge difference when I'm trekking around town exploring.
The sandals were great- made it through 3 weeks of trekking through Thailand and aren't worn at all. They were the first flip flops I've had that didn't give me blisters. A warning though- I bought a previous pair from a different store and the outer strap on one of the flops was an inch longer than on the other one- looks like they should have kept their manufacturing in the US.
As I said in the June 3 review above, my flips are a size 9, two sizes larger than my Z1 pair, which are a size 7. I had to return the size 8 pair which I bought originally. My big toe hung out over the edge of the size 8. With some chat help from the gear experts, I measured my "big" foot, and we confirmed the measurements of the size 9, and I ordered it. The 9 is a perfect fit. I've worn them almost every day since I got them and they're fabulous. Plenty of arch support. And they look terrific, too. Can't go wrong with Chaco's, only the sizing is a bit weird.
They're really cute and fit great on my narrow feet. They're too tight across the top of my feet though. Maybe they need some more time to break in, but comfortable enough to wear around for a little bit. I wouldn't walk around for miles in them.
With geezerly feet it's been years since I've worn flip flops. Imagine my joy when I tried on my first pair of Chaco flip flops. I can wear them all day and walk for miles in comfort. AND since flip flops are a shoe for the young I fancy they help push me back in that direction. They're the best!
First of all, I have other pairs of Chaco flips, the leather ones and I love them. The arch support is amazing. What happened here? The first time I put these on the webbing rubbed the top of my foot raw and it was a week before I was headed to Hawaii. I only wore them an hour or so. I tried tape on the inside to cushion it, bandages on my foot. It took a week and a half to heal and no I didn't wear them in Hawaii. I'm still trying to figure out how to break in the webbing.
I actually had the oppisite problem. I loved the web flip so much (going on 3 yrs) and wanted a brown pair. They only have them in leather so I bought them and each time I wear them they rub between my toes. Any chance in getting a brown webbing flip??? I also feel like I need to take care of them a little more, no jumping in puddles in the leather pair!
ok, I go to disneyland every year for three days (cheer competition....not choice) and I can't find shoes that are comfortable. what would be the most comfortable shoe to wear, walking and being on my feet for days at a time?
Hey Barb,I would check out some of the line of Keen. They're really comfortable and should be good for your whole trip easily. The only issue is that your footwear might not make you "look" like you belong at a cheer competition:)
These are the best flip flops for support of feet (great arch support) and feel very comfortable. I just bought my second pair in a different color and also a pair for my sister's birthday. We both have feet problems and these are the only flips that we can wear.
These flip-flops have the awesome footbed of a Chaco sandal, with the convenience and style of a flip-flop. Most flip-flops are soft, spongy, slick, and flat. Not this one. It has great arch support, and a super grippy rubber sole. No weak, slick foam here. I wear the same size in the flips as I do in the Z/1's and Z/2's, but I sized from 7.5 up to 8. It's a flip-flop that's actually good for your feet. Nice colors and patterns, too. I wear these year round (snow on the streets permitting).
For me, I wear a size 9 normally and a size 9 in my Chaco flip-flops...go figure. I'm on my second pair of these, and both fit true to size, at least for me.
i am usually a size 10 and find this sandal to be a bit small, but it still fits comfortably. i find the 10 to be acceptable for this as i dont plan on being ridiculously active in it, i just want to use it for casual wear. but other chaco products i would go to an 11
I love my new sandals. Just as I had read in the other reviews they really do come already broken in. Also, they are great working for working in the yard or any other dirty work. Just hose them off and they're good as new. So far they seem to be indestructible. This was my first pair of Chaco's but they won't be my last.
Love my Chaco's. This is my third pair. They are expensive, but with the lifetime guarantee worth every penny. After Katrina, they were the only pair of shoes I had evacuated with. They got a lot of miles and muck. Decided it was time for a new pair even though the old ones had plenty of life left in them. Would not choose any other brand.
My other pair of Chaco's (Z1) are a size 7. After reading all the reviews, I decided to order the flips in an 8, just to be sure. To my surprise, the 8 was too small! Most of my shoes are between 7 and 8 depending on the brand. With sandals, and especially flips, I want some footbed sticking out there to protect my big toe, which is, while not excessively large, tends to stick out where it doesn't belong, and it gets stubbed easily. No fun. I returned the 8 and ordered a 9. They are perfect! Plenty of room, and no stubs yet...
I agree with all that said they have good arch support. My shins start to hurt after wearing other flip flops that don't offer any support. These are so comfortable, I wear them whenever possible. I usually wear a 7.5 and I went down to a 7 and they are perfect! I didn't have any blisters after first wearing them, the straps were a little tight at first, but have loosened up and I would recommend them to anyone! I'm considering getting more colors!
I'm on my second pair of these, but they are by far my very most favorite shoes ever. I have high arches and have to wear orthotics in my hiking boots, running shoes, etc. but these Chacos give me just as much support, plus the grip of a running shoe (or at least a really good technical sandal). I walk between 1-6 miles a day in these to and from the bus stop or to and from the office, and could easily walk even further in them if I needed to. They may seem pricey for a flip-flop, but they're worth every penny. I'm on my second pair (puppy chewed the first a couple years ago, otherwise I'm sure they'd still be going strong), and they're wearing great, two years in. They're also great if your feet sweat b/c the suface is non-porous (to the naked eye, anyway) and these don't smell or get spongy they way some flip-flops do if you sweat in them. And if they do get dirty or stink, you can just scrub them off in the sink, no worries.
Fit: I wear a 9 in my Vasque hiking boots, North Face running shoes, and other shoes generally speaking, and the 9 works fine for me in these Chacos. My feet are on the narrower side of a regular width, but they seem to work okay for my mom, as well, and her feet are size 9 but wider.
As my first pair of Chaco's, I was disappointed in the fit. It seems this sandal was designed for a narrow foot. The arch didn't come close to matching with mine. May try a men's for the width.
These are great sandals. I've been wearing the same tired old flip-flops for about six years because I couldn't find a pair that was comfy enough to replace them, but replace them these did! I had to break in the straps a bit, but no blisters, just some minor rubbing the first two times I wore them. I normally wear a size 6 in dress shoes and sandals and a 6 1/2 in athletic/hiking. I got a size 6 in these and they fit just fine. They are not heavy and my feet do not slide around in them when I walk. The footbed is very comfortable and provides amazing support for a flip-flop. I will definitely buy another pair.
This is my third pair of Chaco flip flops. Unfortunately, these flip flops do not mold to your feet--they are hard rubber and do not give. Even ordering them a 1/2 size bigger, the strap does not give, so, if I wear them too long, they feel tight.
I'm a Chaco fan anyway, but wanted something quick to put on me feet to run outside and play with the dog or do yardwork, but that would stand up to months, possibly even years, of wear. I believe the flips are it. I've had them only a month, but now they're the first pair of shoes I reach for no matter what I'm doing. Great fit (true to size), seem durable, and I never got an uncomfortable hot spot from the strap that most flip flops give me. Solid.
I absolutely love chaco flips. I used to always wear the chaco sandals because I was under the illusion that they were more supportive than their flips. The flips are just as good, with less bulk. I ignored the reviews of them running small because I have the leather flips in size 9 (I usually wear 8.5-9) and they fit just fine. The flips are slightly (ever so slightly) smaller than the leather flips, but I'm glad I didn't get the bigger size. Yes, they are a little narrow, so if you are in the upper range of the 1/2 size scale with a wider foot, size up.
I love these flip flops! I have very high arches and have never found a flip flop that I can wear non-stop--until now! I can wear them all day without any discomfort. The shoes did take a few days to break in--a little toe-rub. I've purchased a pair for my husband (he has flat feet) who loves them, and my mother (who has high arches too). They are worth the $$$.
Oooh! Comfy sandals. I wouldn't use these for hiking, but they are great for steppin out and for strolls around the neighborhood. A barely there type of shoe.
I didn't think it was possible to find flip flops with arch support. I have three pairs now: one for the gym, one for out and about and one I use in the house as slippers. I hope Chaco keeps making this product and adds more with this footbed design/arch support.
Love it, looks great, soles aren't that sticky, might be cool if Chaco made a flip that had the five ten rubber on the bottom (which is the stickiest rubber i've come across for slippery wet rocks).
These are by far is the most comfortable sandals I have ever worn. I didn't need to break them in. These sandals were ready to wear. I love that!! One thing though, they do run small, I usually wear a 9 and had to order a 10.
They're great! Just as comfortable as traditional Chacos but more stylish with the flip flip style. The textured foot bed help keep your feet from slipping around, especially when they get wet.
Oh yes, Oh yes! Thats what my feet are saying. I spend my time in or on the water fishing or sailing. Those sandals take it all and then look smashing as I go out to dinner in the evening. What more could you ask from a totally functional sandal. And that the investment is worth it.
You can never go wrong with Chacos. Great, lightweight sandals with good support (for a flip flop). Your staff was also incredibly helpful when I had some trouble with UPS shipping. Definitely recommend the sandals and the store!
I hate to write a poor review for these Chaco's because I personally love the company. I also own a pair of z/2's and z/1's both of which I love. However, the flip flops just don't do it for me. After extended use, they make my feet hurt. The straps rub on the top of my foot, and because of this, I hardly ever wear them anymore. They sizing, for me, was the same as my other Chaco's, which I would highly recommend. This product, sadly, has proven to be sub par for me. The up side, however, is that they are both durable and made well which can always be expected with Chaco.
Great arch support and grip. They were REALLY small in size, though. I had to return my pair and exchange them for the next size up. Even those are a little snug but seem to be breaking in.
This is my first pair of flip-flops in years. I had not bought any due to the fact that I have high arches and all the other flip-flops I have worn gave my feet no support. I decided to try these because I have the Chaco z/2 and have worn them for years. I love these flip-flops. They give great support, very comfortable, and they look great! Highly recommend them!
These are my favorite sandals. They was no need for a break in period and they have great, comfortable arch support. I've worn these for a day at the zoo, shopping around town, walks to the park and my feet have not ached at all. A welcome relief from other sandals I've worn.
I like them so much I bought my sister a pair for her birthday and my mother a pair for Mother's Day.
Absolutely love these shoes. They are comfy and cute. I am usually on the large end of an 8 1/2 and I wear these in a 9 cuz I prefer a little room in my chacos. Just bought a pair for each of my bridesmaids to wear during my wedding in November. The snowpea will look great with their green dresses.
I love love love my leather chaco flips and I wear a size 8 in those. I am typically a 7 1/2 to and 8. I went against the reviews saying to size a full size up. But my leather chaco flips I have in a size 8. Wow...the size 8 was too small in these flips. I even compared lengths on my leather flips and these and my size 8 flips were around 1 inch longer. So I WILL be returning the size 8 for a size 9 and I am sure those will be just perfect. Bummer that Chaco can't just to the same length in all their stuff. I wear a size 8 in all my 4 chaco shoes that I have.
Great pair of flip flops, excellent arch support. Durable, comfortable - some flip flops cause irritation between my toes - these don't. Only drawback is that in the black they are just sort of blah from a style standpoint.
I was a little skeptical because I don't tend to like nylon between my toes on flip flops but these ones are so comfy! I love the arch support and comfort of the soles. It's time to toss my other flip flops!
these are so comfortable! i must warn you though, the first two times i wore them, i got a blister on the top of my foot from the strap. however, after two or three times they were completely broken in and the most comfortable shoes i own. and i have a lot of shoes
I love Chaco flips period. This is my 8th pair. So same kind just new color. They are my favorite foot apparel ever! I wear them daily all year around. They are well worth the money because they last forever. I still wear the ones I bought originally over 5 years ago. I am already looking forward to seeing next years styles. You will not be disappointed.
I can walk on slippery wet asphalt, icey stairs, and sandy asphalt...all the while I have not slipped once. The traction these flips give off is fantastic. Only when I get too excited and my feet start to sweat that the undeniable "swish shish" happens with every step. Speaking from years of wearing tevas an such,,,I am almost positive that the toe hold will never actually break away from the sandal right in the middle of a frissbee game. I am chaco for life!
I exclusively wear flip flops and cowgirl boots and I can't even believe I never owned these!! Great support, super cute, and all that a girl would want in a pair of flips. Sizing seems to run a bit on the low size-so if in doubt perhaps go up one size.
These are hands down the best casual flip flops out there. The newer sandals actually have a non-marking sole by Chaco instead of Virbram soles. These are the most supportive flip flops I have ever worn, and the sole's not going to wear out in half a summer like many other flippy floppies I've had. These are well worth the extra money.
so, I was told I have plantar faschitis (which i totally spelled wrong right there, but since i find everything irritating about it, including its spelling, I'm not going to change it.) and I'm supposed to wear shoes "with support"... now, for most people, they would regulate themselves to sneakers and the like, but I live in SoCal, so i need to be able to wear flip-flops 90% of the year. The Chaco flips can be worn because of their amazing support and style and everything! I love them. They are a little narrow, but I just make sure that I go up a half-size... I love these shoes!
So a few years ago, I spent a couple of weeks backpacking around Europe in 5 Euro H&M flip-flops. 6 countries later my feet (and the sandals) were in sore shape. If only I'd known about Chacos. Just get them, your feet will thank you.
I wear my Chacos all the time as a river guide. I prefer the flip over all, they are the most comfortable. I have worn them on 8 mile hikes into the desert climbing on rocks that people in hiking boots have a hard time with. They have all the grip of the Z/2 and Z/1, with even more comfort.
