Chaco Canyonland Mid eVent Hiking Shoe - Women's

Whether it’s a day hike in red rock country or an overnight backpacking trip in the high peaks, the Chaco Women’s Canyonland Leather Mid eVent Hiking Shoe gives you protection from the elements and ankle support for off-trail excursions. Chaco backed the all-leather upper with a waterproof breathable eVent membrane and a moisture-wicking Trek-Dri lining to keep your feet dry and comfy on long trail days. The BioCentric footbed wards off nasty odors, and the Getagrip rubber outsole sticks to desert slick rock and muddy trails alike.

Bottom Line: Explore the canyons, hills, and peaks in this shoe.

Great Arch Support & Comfy Too!

By:

I needed a lightweight hiker to wear daily. ( I work at an environmental center.) They had to be comfy enough to wear indoors, in the classrooms, and tough enough for the trails - all the while prividing support for my plantars faciatis and torn ligament in my ankle.
These do it all. I can wear them with my ankle brace ior without and still be comfortable. My plantars has not been hurting. I paired these with the Columbia lightwt. wool hiking socks and they make such a difference.
There is a small amount of heel slip in all the Chaco hikers I tried on - low or mid vent. I was worried initially about blisters but it has been totally a non-issue.
If you need a reliable, comfortable, well arched hiker - buy these. Backcountry has the best price around ... buy two. :)

Breathable and Light

By:
May 28, 2009

I've only bought 1 other pair of hiking boots in my life and they were really heavy from Big 5. Instead, I usually hike in my Merrell Chameleon, but wanted something waterproof. I haven't hiked in water yet with my Chacos, but they are really light, breathable, and with good arch support (although I still put in my own insoles since I'm flat-footed). Only thing is that my ankle was a little sore at the end of a 12 mile hike possibly because the shoe stops right above my ankle.. perhaps I need to wear thicker socks. I'm usually a 7.5 in sneakers since I have wide feet. I bought a 7 in Chacos and they are a little tight, but I didn't get any blisters. I'm hoping they'll stretch out.
