Put a leak-proof, squirt-friendly bite valve and a shut-off lever on top of a BPA-free container and you get the CamelBak Podium 21oz Bottle. A HydroGuard TM lining prevents bacteria build-up so you don't get mystery black stuff growing in the corners, and the squeezable Podium Bottle lets you hydrate quickly during your trail run or bike ride. A BPA Free symbol shows that CamelBak made this water bottle out of a copolyester polymer material so you don't have to worry about leaching.
Bottom Line: A BPA-free bottle for one-handed drinking.
This is an awesome looking bottle with some cool features but it takes some grip strength to squeezes to drink from. For me this was a deal breaker and so I sent it back. I bike pretty hard and don't need to fight for extra strength to get a drink. If they made this in a more flexible plastic I wouldn't consider any thing else.
I just wanted a BPA-free water bottle. I read that this one was leak-proof and had a lining that prevents bacteria build-up. I got exactly what I wanted so I am happy and love it.
The drinking tip on this bottle is perfect. No dribbling. If you happen lay your bike out the bottle doesn't drip on it's side. I liked this bottle so much, I bought a bunch to give to my riding buddies for christmas.
This bottle works great. I use it for a lot more than biking since it does not easily leak when open. It is a great step above the standard bottle.
down sides: not for dirty activities as you cannot keep mud from collecting on the inside of the nozzle; and also this area is a place for grime to hide when cleaning. The threading for the top is not standard to most other bottles, which seems silly.
These are great bottles that out-shine the competition without a doubt. However, that HydroGuard anti-microbial lining...it's pretty good but not foolproof. Trust me. Yuck! And I would love to see CamelBak make this bottle in a smaller diameter 16oz. model. But, alas, they do not. In the 21oz., it's still a tad "fat" for most water bottle pouches on fanny packs and so forth.
You people are a bunch of complainers! This is a great bottle! If you don't like the lid, just replace it with a lid that fits your personal preference. I like that I don't have to keep opening and closing the lid and I don't have to worry about my beverage leaking or BPA leaching or my drink tasting funny. Keep up the good work, CamelBak!
I love these bottles. Since I got them I haven't even thought about grabbing another bottle to use. I love the tips on them and the ability to close them off completely and prevent any dripping.
After using these a couple times, I'm looking to replace all my water bottles that I use for cycling with these ones.
I've used other bottles before with the squeeze valves, but none of them had any kind of lip I could bite into to get a better hold on the bottle. Sometimes when you grab a bottle from it's cage your hand isn't in the correct position, so by giving me something I can hold with my teeth--much like a traditional bottle--I can reposition my handle for better squeezing.
These bottles do exactly what the description says--they hold water and don't taste like car tires on a hot day. I was worried that the BPA-free plastic would be too hard to squeeze while biking, but these turned out to be just as easy as a normal bottle. They are easy to use, stay mold-free (for me, at least), and they lock so you wont accidentally leak water in your pack on the way to the trail. The only gripe I have is that it is impossible to get the last bit (maybe 50 mL) of water out of them. Overall, great bottle: I will buy more as soon as they are in stock again.
This bottle is durable, BPA free, looks great, and at 4.77 couldn't be any better! I bought one a whie ago for twice as much and it was worth it at that price! Highly recommended. Cap fits on specialized wide mouth bottles, too!
This is a great water bottle. No plastic taste. Some people might not like the bite valve. This is my go to bottle for biking and running! Camelbak has made another super product.
