CamelBak Hellion Hydration Pack

CamelBak's Hellion Hydration Pack carries your skis or board, avy gear, and extra layers for your backcountry rides. Fill the three-liter water reservoir and head out in search of un-tracked powder. A padded waist-belt takes the weight off your shoulders when you travel with a heavy load, and the fleece-lined goggle pocket keeps your shades safe while you hike up. Strap on your shovel or ice axe to the exterior tool loops, and clip your helmet to the carry loop. Pack your music player in the padded MP3 pocket and let the motivation flow. The leakproof bite valve won't drip all over your jacket after you take a sip, and this CamelBak backpack's durable water reservoir keeps going season after season.

Bottom Line: Take the Hellion in search of backcountry bliss.

Is there any stiffness/support structure between the waist belt

Is there any stiffness/support structure between the waist belt and shoulder harness or is it just soft material like a standard backpack? I can't find any good descriptions of this product.

I have a smaller version of this pack (Chaos) and even though there isn't any internal structure the polymer padding that they use has enough stiffness so that heavy loads sit very well on your back.

I am looking at using this bag as my aid pack as a ski patroller, and was wondering about the internal organization. Are there several small pockets around the bag (bonus if there are on the inside as well), or is it just the standard bottomless pit of one main pocket?

there is a divider of sorts on the inside(but still pretty much wide open) and the only exterior pocket is the goggle pocket.

Great Pack

I have used this pack all over, from skiing resorts to summer day trips in extremely hot weather. It does the job and then some. It has a perfect camera pocket on the waist-belt and carries skis diagonally. The only problem I have had is with the bite valve; it has a valve to shut the flow off at the bite bite valve and it comes out pretty easily creating a siphon that can get you all wet. It is just a small piece, and to lose it would be terrible in the backcountry.

The review states the bite valve comes out really easy and can get you all wet. Has this been fixed in the design? Thank You Martha

The bite valve should have a on/off valve on it so not something that needs to be worried about.

It's pretty close, it has the larger reservoir as you mentioned plus it has about 400 more cu in of space. I don't think the menace has a pocket on the waist belt either.
