CamelBak 1L Bottle w/ Big Bite Valve - 2007

Flip, bite, and sip on the go—with no spills. CamelBak's Big Bite Valve on its 1L Bottle lets you hydrate while you're hiking, without splashing water up your nose in the process. The valve self-seals to prevent dripping, and opens when you bite down to take a drink. Fold the Big Bite Valve down and store the leak-proof 1L Bottle in your pack. Or clip the carrying handle into a carabineer on the outside of your gear. Clean CamelBak's 1L Bottle in the dishwasher to get rid of that lemon-lime drink residue.

Bottom Line: CamelBak's Big Bite Valve 1L Water Bottle—it's now possible to hydrate while you're on the move without watering your shirt and pants as well.

great bottle

By:

I realy like this bottle, I do find myself drinking more water with it since you don't have to unscrew a cap every time you take a drink. I work around computers most of the day and do not have to worry about it spilling.

Love not having to tip my bottle! Perfect for water while traveling in Europe! I strongly prefer this over my Nalgene bottles!

Works great for me

By:
February 18, 2008

I have one for work, one for the car, one at home, and one for yoga class. I don't go anywhere without one of these. I call them adult sippy cups - they are so easy to use. I can open it, take a drink, and close it one-handed. Also, with the straw, I don't have to tip the bottle upside down like you do with "pop-top" water bottles, which is nice while driving. I drink WAY more water now just because using this thing is so fun.

The better bottle is a better bottle

By:

Love my better bottle. I always had to stop to drink and not end up wearing my water from my widemouth bottle but now I can just keep on going. I also keep one at work so that I don't have to worry about spilling the water on my computer.

want to drink more water? this is for you

By:

great water bottle! i like that i can use it on the treadmill while running- i don't have to stop running to get a drink. also i have found that i drink more water with this bottle than other screw top water bottles; the bite valve/straw combination has you drinking and barely noticing.

add one straw, and shake violently

i will be honest, i bought this bottle to use at work and have not really put it "through the ringer" outside at this point. BUT, you need to stay hydrated if you play outside on a regular basis and having a straw for some reason helps me to drink a lot more water during the day than if i just have a wide mouth Nalgene and have to unscrew it all the time, dump water down my shirt, or let dust and whatever other randomness flies through the air fall in there if i leave it open. I have at least tested the leak-proof-ness by turning upside down and shaking violently. seriously, it was violent. And mine passed that test.

Leaks from bite valve

By:
April 18, 2008

I commute every day to the city and gain or lose about a thousand feet. The bite valve, while a great idea, does not seal well and I end up having to carry the bottle in a plastic bag to keep my other stuff dry. No one else seems to have this problem. Is it just the altitude, or is there something else going on? My Nalgene does not leak but, of course, does not have the bite valve. Thought it might have been a defective bottle but the next one had the same leak. I have three bottles now, and they all leak.

Does not leak!

I disagree with the other review on this product. This has never leaked on me ever! I have thrown it in my backpack with my laptop and feel so confident with it like that. I have had mine for a while now and never had it leak. you just want to make sure you have the top screwed on nice and tight. This water bottle is amazing. I drink more water with it, it is so easy to take a drink, so unscrewing a lid or anything, just pop it up and pop the bite valve down. 5 big stars from me!

Good idea...but leaks

By:

I love the idea of the bottle but the bite valve leaks when standing up, lying down...going up in altitude. Perfect only if you are going to leave it upright at all times.

Mine is great!

Funny how people say they leak, but mine never has. I got one with some prototype lids that you turn the lid, and it shuts off the flow to the bite valve. Maybe everyone elses does not have this feature. I love mine non the less, and will continue to use it happily!
