Wear the CW-X Men's Pro Shorts for trail running, adventure racing, or any endurance sport that requires maximum performance. Normal running shorts do little more than give you coverage. These shorts support your muscles and reduce stress on your joins with their various anatomically aligned fabrics. This increases muscle speed and decreases fatigue.
Bottom Line: Get more from your workouts and races with CW-X's Pro Shorts.
These shorts are nice, very nice. They are well crafted and quite tough. I honestly do not feel a difference in my leg soreness after wearing these or my other Nike running shorts. However, if you like tighter shorts and want to show off your quads snag em'!
After hemming and hawing for quite a while I broke down and finally bought a pair of these shorts. They do just as they say, the support can be felt the first minute you put them on, and is even more noticeable once you have gone a few miles. My legs felt quite a bit stronger than normal after a few miles of trail running and I did not have nearly as much soreness later on or during the next day. I will be taking them with me on a upcoming backpacking trip and can not wait. Bottom line, worth every penny.
I am 5'4" 120lbs... if I get the small, will it be too large? I am small for the CWX pants and those fit fine, but the sizing charts for the shorts and pants are a bit different.
Wore these short liners in a 24 hour adventure race through water, mountain biking, and trekking/running. No cramping, chub rub or chafing. The liners worked great and were well worth it to have no issues throughout the entire race. I would highly recommend.
I was amazed to find that CW-X doesn't use a crotch gusset in these. In fact, the big seam running through the crotch in an "X" isn't even flatlocked. So, while I like these shorts for short runs, anything longer than a 10K is asking for chafing.
I own a pair of CW-X compression shorts, model 220805. They are a size Medium and fit well. I wish to purchase new pro shorts. However, your size chart clearly indicates I am a Small size based on my height and weight. Has your design changed? I am unsure if I need a Medium or a Small....please advise.
I run Cross Country and Track for my university, so I spend a lot of time pounding out miles year around. I took these on a 16mile run one morning, and let me just say WOW. Feeling complete support in the thighs, as well as the knees, I flew through the workout with little fatigue in my legs. They do almost everything they promise, a great buy and investment.
I have been working out an hour or so a day for 35 years and this is the first product I have felt compelled to review. Fending off injury and post workout soreness has become an issue and compression shorts seem to work for me. CWX makes a high quality product. I just purchased a second pair and use them with the briefs which are equally comfortable. Perhaps the only downside is that there is some lower abdominal compression which might be uncomfortable for some individuals.
I have 2 pairs of CWX shorts, and my GF also swears by them. The large surface areas have a breathable fabric and the "bands" provide support. My only gripe is that the center seam line does not lay completely flat and chafes on long distances. I have not had problems on 10K runs, but experienced some chafing on my half marathon. Otherwise I would have given 4-stars.
As a 6'2" 155lbs. male, I do not exist on the CW-X sizing chart. So I went with a medium, but a large may have been better. The shorts performed great, and I had no cramping issues in my last 50 mile race, they were just a little tight in the crotch. Still, there was no chafing there. And I was most impressed with how I felt the next day- greatly reduced soreness in my quads and hamstrings.
I am looking forward to cold weather so I can try their tights next.
These are the best athletic shorts I have ever used. My my upper legs feel firmly supported and I experience less fatigue do to the compression factor. I skate 13 miles a few times a week and it is a noticeable factor for reduced fatigue. I am also a registered nurse and I understand the importance of supporting venous return which exactly what these shorts actually provide. They also provide great stability for the legs. I highly recommend these shorts to anyone who is involved with any serious athletic activities.
These shorts fit well, support well, and I use them regularly for long runs. I'm happy with the purchase, but I think that in general the CWX products are overpriced. I'm undecided on whether I'll buy another pair or not.
Bought two pair of these shorts after purchasing CW-X tights. These are the bomb, they are secure, comfortable and hold the boys securely in place. I like them so much that I wear them on my daily 3 mile runs as well as longer runs.
Went to the super market after my run the other day and the women seemed to like them as well ;-)
I have been a pro runner for 5 years now and have used every type of sneaker and clothing out on the market. Cost really is not priority to me, performance is. I started using CWX a year after I turned pro and have been in them ever since. The support you get in the hamstring and quad is awesome. The abs and lower back even get some support. Before I started using them, I would really have to be careful of my hams and or quads when running up or down steep hills, as to not pull anything. Now with the support, I am at full speed and have improved my times. For the everyday user they would be ideal to keep injuries and spasms to a min. T-man
Sometimes I teach back-to-back group fitness class, which is why I recommend these shorts for individuals who sweat a lot, because the fabric dries easily.
These are the best pair of compression shorts I have worn. They keep my leg muscles warm and support me in the all right places. I have used them in football and hockey (not straight running yet) and I have less muscle soreness and fatigue than with regular compression shorts. There only drawback is price (a bit steep), but I have bought two pair...
Great pair of compression shorts. Pricey, but they really helped for quad and glut fatigue. I play football and hockey in them and my legs are nowhere near as tired the next day as with traditional compression shorts. The drawstring is key to help keep them up. They are extremely comfortable too. Have not tried them for straight running yet.
This is a little personal when it comes to recommending underware, but these work really well for me. Keeps your junk together and providdes some extra warmth.
These shorts are really comfortable and seem to reduce my recovery time from a good workout. They are really well made too (comparable to Pearl Izumi).
been wearing these for over 2 years and swear by them, own 2 pairs. I wear these on runs over 10 miles and all marathons. These are must have for serious runners. I have tried running long without them and other shorts do not come close in the support and fit. You will not be disappointed.
These are the best. The way they hug the muscles feels very good and comfortable. I've been using the Expert shorts for a while now, but I would definitely prefer the Pro version. I've been using these shorts alone while backcountry skiing on warm days in May, and running, and they feel great.
Playing ice hockey again following hip arthroscopy. Shorts work as described by manufacturer. Help to reduce impact and excessive rotation in my hips, as well as a feeling of decreased joint loading. A little pricey for compression shorts but in my opinion and situation, worth it.
great shorts, very supportive in all the right places. I noticed a lot of hamstring support, but also lower back and lower abs. I use them for running, trails, also under my hiking shorts, and tri-training.
I loved the support and the flat seams throughout this short. However they missed the crucial seam. The seam that runs under the crotch isn't flat and definitely chafes if you wear them for more than half an hour. A big flaw for a pricey pair of underwear.
If you work out a lot, these shorts are for you. The support bands provide badly needed support for the muscle groups in the legs and prevent injury. I have two pair now and am sold on them.
This is one of the rare running products that actually lives up to its advertising, at least to a significant degree. I found these to offer some much-needed support in the quads on runs of 15+ miles. Also, if you train on any serious hills, you'll find that these really reduce the strain of downhill running. Highly recommended.
these compression shorts are awesome. I'm 60-years old and ran a marathon (Disney) in them. Finished in 2:58:00 just 2 seconds under my marathon-best which I did a year before when I was 59. The second part of the race I could still maintain a 6:50 pace. Had the feeling as if I was sitting in a comfortable chair. After the sub-3 marathon I was a bit tired but not as much as usual. I cannot prove that this was due to the shorts but I really think they have helped me.
I've used my new CW-X shorts three or four times now and I have to say that they live up to every bit of the manufacturer's hype. However, there are a few problems. The shorts are about 3/4" to 1" too long and the leg grippers aren't firm enough. I'm 6' and 153 lbs with very well developed thighs from years of cycling. I much prefer the cut and grip of cycling shorts. There is also an somewhat annoying styling issue. The fabric tends to pull across the groin area into horizontal creases. Once again, not what you would find in cycling shorts.
I have used these for a couple of weeks. They are super comfortable, almost to the point you don't know if you are wearing them. The leg support on these suckers is incredible. They are well worth the dough. The one downfall is that they seem to collect a lot of moisture. I do sweat more than the average human, so that is probably my fault not the shorts. I never chafe with these puppies. I recommend these to you.
