CW-X Performx Tight - Women's

Keep your muscle machine properly tuned in the CWX Women’s PerformX Tight. CWX’s patented Support Web fibers align your joints and apply gentle pressure on targeted areas to increase capillary circulation. Now you can go ahead and wait for the superhero hall of fame to induct you—because every runner knows improved circulation reduces muscle fatigue, blood pooling, and post-workout soreness. Coolmax fabric panels treat your skin to a little A/C, and UPF 40 sun protection saves your hide on bright days. When the weather turns harsh, the PerformX Tight’s flatlock seams let it glide smoothly under protective outer layers of clothing.

Bottom Line: You haven’t seen real performance tights till now.

Effective Tights for knee injuries

By:
November 30, 2009

At the suggestion of my Pilates instructor, I bought these tights for more strenuous activity after a hyper-extension injury to my knee. Good, good investment. Sufficient support for the knee and IT band, but very comfortable. I am 5'11" and 150 lbs. I ordered up to a large and am happy with that fit.

Has anyone thrown these in the dryer? The label says not to tumble dry and I was wondering why. They do dry fast, but would an occasional tumble dry be bad for the tights?

Hi Jaja. For CW-X Support tights, Best is to line dry. However if you do throw them in the dryer, use a gentle setting and not high heat. High heat can potentially harm the Support web material.

Love these tights - really comfortable and you can definitely feel the difference between these and plan spandex tights. My legs stay really warm and they give my bad knee some really good support.

I am hoping to buy some CW-X tights- but I am not sure what size to buy. I am a female, 5'1" and 103-107 pounds. I get nervous about buying XS thinking they might be too tight- but then I worry that a S might be too big? Training for a marathon and need help...

Hi Mary Carol- Size XS is what you need. They stretch very well and will give you the right fit. If you go up a size to Small, they will most likely be slightly loose on you which defeats the purpose of the support web system. Get the XS size. You will love them.

Yes, get the XS. I have a pair of these, and the sizing chart above is accurate. The S would be a little too big. It's better for these tights to be tight than loose.

I would go for x-small. The tights will be most effective when they are not too big (Just as long as they don't restrict your movement). I'm 5'9" 155 pounds and have a pair in large.

Great IT band support

By:
September 16, 2008

I bought these tights after my doctor recommended these for IT band issues in my leg. I would always get tight muscles from my outer hip down to my calf. Anyhow, I can't say enough good things about these tights. They support the muscles on the side and I don't have as much soreness and tightness when I use these tights for running, and cross country skiing. Worth every penny.

I am wondering about sizing as well... I am about 5'3" and about 135-140. I am slender in my hips, but tend to carry my weight in the torso... should I be getting a S or M?

UNBELIEVABLE

By:
November 13, 2008

I absolutely love these tights- I bought them to train in for an Ultra Race in Sahara Desert. These tights support everything from your abdominal/core to my legs, I like the fact that they are not constrictive yet firm on your lower torso/quads. They both keep you warm, yet I never felt over heated after running long- 6-8 hrs at time in them. If you want value for your money and tights that SUPPORT then buy these ONLY.

Hi, I'm an avid snowboarder and was looking to buy this as my first layer. I'm going to be wearing Goretex burton pants over them. And wondered if they would be good as 1st layer, my main concern is keeping me warm and wicking away the sweat whilst helping my muscles as I ride. I'm 5'4 about 170pounds and was thinking of buying the large.

Review Title

By:
November 28, 2009

I must say when I first opened the package they came in, I thought "I will never get those on". They were like putting on very small support hose. They say they are supposed to be tight fitting. I wore them for the first time in a 4 mile turkey trot in 40 degree weather. I felt warm and noticed my knees did not ache like they usually do. At the end of the race, I felt very good....like I could keep on running. I actually felt like I used much less energy to perform. My only problem was that I don't like wearing tight fitting clothing so after the race was finished I could not get them off fast enough. Great product. I will buy more for sure!

Lynn- You've picked the right tight for IT support. Since you are tall and 138lbs, you are really between two sizes. Your height calls for a Large, but if your weight points to Medium. If your height is mostly in your legs, then I would say you need a size large. Especially if you have strong, athletic legs. if your height is mostly in your upper body and your legs are skinny, I would try the medium. You may have a small gap between the bottom of the tight and your ankle, but that's ok. The tights should feel comfortable and fit like second skin. Not too tight and definitely not too loose. You know the tight is too loose on your legs if you see major wrinkles in the fabric and it's bunching up. I hope you enjoy the tights.

I love these tights

By:
November 23, 2009

I purchased these tights specifically for running. I am in training to run a marathon, I have done an 18 miler and 20miles in these tights. I love the support and at the same time the lightness of the tights. I have been a runner for 13 yrs and have done numerous practice runs, 5ks, 10ks, half-marathons and 6 marathons. These are by far the best running tights I have ever owned. I purchased two pair so I won't have to run in anything else. The only thing I would like is to have a solid color black, gray or other color but that is just vanity, these feel so good I will sacrifice my cute running outfits for wonderful support and body preservation which is the MOST IMPORTANT THING. I was thrilled to see that they are made by Wacoal which makes my favorite bras. The service and expertise of the Backcountry staff has been wonderful too.Sincerely, Sandy

I'm seriously thinking about getting a pair (or two) of CW-X

I'm seriously thinking about getting a pair (or two) of CW-X tights, but don't quite know what size to order. I'm 176cm tall and weigh 75-76 kg. So, I fall into the grey area between the M and the L on the CW-X sizing chart. I carry my weight more in the thighs and hips and than in the upper body so I'm leaning toward the L. Can anyone confirm that choice?

Hi There. If you are in between sizes, I would go up to the larger size. Especially if you carry the weight in the tighs and hips. The tights should sit comfortably on your body and feel like a second skin. Not extremely tight. Good luck, I hope you enjoy the CW-X performx tight. It's a great product.

Can't run without them!

By:
March 6, 2009

These tights are fantastic! The compression is just right- no restriction of movement, but I sure can feel the support it gives my legs and core.
I don't run with any other brand of tights.

I have checked the size charts. I am a 5'10" female, 180lb, with large legs (I lost 100 lbs, and my legs are still large with excess/baggy skin). Per the size chart, i would fit in the women's Large. however I often find that women's sizes just don't fit well on my frame. Womens clothes, even "tall" sizes tend to be too short, and the rise (crotch to waist) also tends to be too short.
I am thinking of getting the men's large or x-large.
My question is how does the cut of the men's tights compare to the cut of the womens? are they basically the same, but men's have longer inseam? (great!) or do men's have even a shorter rise (crotch to waist)?
Thank you for any insight on the clothing design comparison between the men's and women's versions of these tights.

Hi There. That's a tough one. CW-X products are anatomically designed to specifically fit Men's or Women's frames. However at this time CW-X is not making a Women's XL which is probably the size that you need. My wife is 5'11 and she wears our Men's Large size. The CW-X Performx tight would work best for you because it is not as essential to get the knee cap in the right place like it is in The Stabilyx Tight for example. In the performx tight, you will get good support and targeted compression on the sides of the knees, the quads, hips, and IT band. They are great tights. I would try the men's Large and see how they feel.

Great!

By:
December 15, 2008

These tights are wonderful - they support extremely well throughout the legs, and insulate without overheating. I got caught out in some unexpected snow last weekend, but my legs never felt the difference (even though the rest of me did!). They protect from moderate wind as well as low temperatures, and I never come home with legs red from the cold anymore. One word of caution: the first time I wore them, my shins and calves ached for the first 5 miles, a sensation I've never had before. Since that first run though, they've been great.

Excellent for knee support

By:
May 27, 2009

I actually purchased the CW-X Performx Tights for knee support. I had patallar realignment surgery and I wanted something that would comfortably support my knee and leg while wearing a brace. The tights worked great, allowed me to be mobile and provided excellend warmth. I hope to be running in them within the next couple of months.
